Defeating Obama: Will it take a Brokered GOP Convention? Probably! (Vanity)
January 5, 2012 | no dems

I'm thinking the only way we will be able to beat Obama will be to have a brokered GOP Convention and a "dark horse" candidate rise out of the ashes. Do I think it will happen? Heck no. So, we are, as my granny used to say: "In a mell of a hess". The GOP Candidates currently running, and the drop-out, Michele Bachmann, have beaten, bruised and bloodied each other so badly that we’re going to make doggone sure we send a nominee into the General Election damaged beyond repair; making victory easy for Obama. The Dems are loving our Primary Process. It should be called the Obituary Process since we're killing off all of our candidates one by one. Now RinoRom and Paully-Wally are aiming their guns on Rick Santorum. Friendly fire is just as deadly as enemy fire.

We are determined to pull defeat from the jaws of victory. And when that happens, we will have no one to blame but ourselves.

I'm thinking; only a Brokered Convention and a fresh, new face, will give us a chance in November.

Wouldn’t a brokered convention be the easiest way for the establishment to throw their candidate on us?

A “Brokered Convention” would put the RNC/GOP “Elites” in charge and give(foist on) us Mittens. NO THANKS!

It won’t happen because you would have to have a candidate that could beat Obama.

If none of the ones in the race could beat him, nobody can.

Cheer up, my baby sister could beat Obama as things stand now. Any of the GOP candidates currently in the mix can easily win this election, so don’t fall for the hype that tells us we must choose Romney.

At this point we have no good choices. There is not a single candidate that I can vote for. Back in ‘08 I voted for McCain even though he was not a good candidate. I won’t just vote for Anyone But Obama. I refuse to settle for the candidates hand picked by the party powers.

The problem is that too many people still pay attention to the MSM. ANY candidate we put up will be demonized as a devil worshiping, mass murdering, child molester. And a significant portion of the electorate will believe it.

While your baby sister could 100% win against obama, we have 1/2 the current GOP crop who could easily lose to him. Never uderestimate the stupidity of the stuipid Whig party called the GOP.

OH, and we still have to have enough votes to overcome the bogus ballots that will materialize when the Rats come up short.

I disagree, I think we have great choices. Either Newt, Santorum, or Perry would make a great President.

We’ve just been so busy hacking them to pieces that we’re not seeing their positives. They really are good people and I think they would try to get us back on track.

I hope we soon start to rally around them and show the world the great things about conservatives.

This exact statement has been threaded at least 3 times I can think of prior to the Iowa caucuses.

Not easy at all. A very large plurality of T.E.A party sympathizers will show up at the convention, and if the Establishment RINOs try to foist off another McCain, they will face massive resistance.

This might not be a fight the Establishment RINOs want to have. They are deathly afraid of blood on the floor, especially if it is theirs.

Up to now, life in the plantation house has been pretty cozy. Not so much in the field hands’ quarters.

And the field hands are getting restless.

Exactly. None of them is the perfect candidate, but they are all good candidates. Of course, there is no such animal as the perfect candidate, not even Reagan. But if we focus on the overall resumes of these candidates, we see a group that better represents the conservative viewpoint than the current establishment candidate, and also the GOP '08 candidate.

True, but Newt not electable, Perry been having trouble stringing 3 words together...

That leaves Santorum and Romney, which is the race we are having now.

Hopefully Perry will do okay in the debates this weekend... if not he'll join Newt as unelectable
