Sad New Year!
Yeah, was thinking of posting it, but didn’t want to worry fellow FReepers.
A bit unusual, it came in 2 or 3 waves... lasted for about 1 minute from where I am. All is well on my side though... I hope the other FReepers here are ok.
Minutes before the quake, I told my
daughter I expected one on New Years.
Father God... please protect Japan.
IN JESUS NAME!
The Meteorological Agency says the offshore quake Sunday struck about 370 kilometers (230 miles) below the sea surface. The agency said there was no danger of a tsunami. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
Bounced me out of bed. No damage in Tokyo though. Must have been rough down in Shimoda.
But, the folks who live in Izu are a bit more used to quakes than the rest of the area.
Possible tsunami danger.
downgraded to 6.8 and with it being 216 miles deep will have very little impact to the surface.

Isn’t this the second one in two days?
Very, very far from Tokyo. Very little damage likely. Almost a non-event.
Oh no! Those poor folks...prayers for their safety!
Hopefully there are no residual quakes/aftershocks
Wow, that was one heck of a firework.
