Obama administration officials are deliberately keeping gun owners in the dark about the president’s gun-control agenda as we head into next year’s national election, because administration officials know that when NRA members and gun owners show up at the polls en masse, anti-gun candidates lose.
The Obama campaign’s strategy goes like this:
Neutralize gun owners and NRA members as a political force in the upcoming national election by pretending to be pro-gun or at least not focused on pushing a gun-control agenda;
With gun owners neutralized, Obama will be able to win the election. After the president is re-elected, he won’t have to answer to voters because he won’t have to face another re-election battle;
Launch a full-scale, all-out assault to rip the Second Amendment out of the Bill of Rights through legislation, litigation, regulation, executive orders and international treaties — in short, every lever of power at the administration’s disposal.
Barack Obama spent his entire political career proudly and publicly pushing for the most radical anti-gun positions you can imagine. He endorsed a total ban on the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns. He opposed right-to-carry laws. He voted to ban nearly all commonly used hunting-rifle ammunition.
During the presidential primary debates, Obama even vowed to re-impose the discredited Clinton gun ban, which banned many commonly owned firearms used for hunting and self-defense.
Obama hasn’t had a sudden change of heart; rather, he’s making a purely political calculation by staying quiet on the gun issue until the time is right. In the meantime, he’s gearing up for his second-term assault on the Second Amendment in a number of ways.

This is bound to happen if he gets a second term. I am not trying to shill for Perry - but who better to fight on this issues than a governor from a strong gun rights state like Texas.

If however, there is a Dem pres and the Republican hold both houses of Congress, far less of the radical anti-gun agenda will see the light of day.
I would rather have a stagnate congress this is in opposition to a Dem president than have a RINO president backed by a Republican Congress.
Right now, the GOP establishment is trying to cram their boy down our throats. To me, there is not a whole lot of difference between Romney's positions and Obama’s on the issues that matter to me. So if it comes down to Romney vs Obama, I will very likely put in a protest vote for someone else and vote R down ticket. Likely I will be followed by millions of other voters. And someday, the GOP will take notice of the millions who voted R but not for their anointed one.
Yeah, except maybe a Bush or a Romney. It feels twice as bad when the knife comes from behind.
If he succeeds, it will be because the NRA continues to support “pro-gun” rats who will pull a Stupak on us if their votes are needed.

It is time for the party to wise up and figure out who their base is and what they can vote for. If someone like Romney is the winner then there will be a strong 3rd party and the republicans and the US will be screwed because they lived up to their title of The Stupid Party.

The Right to Bear Arms is considered to be an individual right by only 5 Supreme Court justices.
All the new president has to do is to appoint 1 more anti-gun judge, and Americans will no longer have any gun rights.
The most important thing about the new president in 2012, is in picking 1, 2, or 3 new Supreme Court Justices. Which candidates are the most pro-civil liberties pro Bill or Rights Constitutional???

Of course, the Beltway insiders, Ivy League cabal in the GOP and the NRA will tell us over and over why we are wrong. But Romney has a record pan this issue, and it doesn’t play well for the GOP.
