Here's what it says on Newt's facebook wall:
Newt and I agreed that the analogy is December 1941: We have experienced an unexpected set-back, but we will re-group and re-focus with increased determination, commitment and positive action.

Eight Bush votes from 1980 to 2004 brought us very little of tangible contributions; or at least, I have forgotten what the contributions were.
I voted for Perot in ‘92 and I don’t recall any Bush running in ‘80 but I guess you could have voted for Algore in 2000 or Jean Fn Kerry in ‘04.
Bush-mclame. Six of one..half a dozen of the other.
Well, he did say this was a War. If Pearl Harbor is the reference, then it sounds to me like he’s saying that he has screwed up Big Time.
Sometimes one needs to switch analogies though, and I don’t really think he goofed as bad as that. I didn’t take it that he meant this was a sneak attack. Because he turns around and says it is an unexpected set back, but they will continue to work and stay positive.
I guarantee you that McCain is far worse.
Maybe, like Cain, Gingrich never expected to get as far as he did. It’s like the dog who unexpectedly catches the car it was chasing. So now what does the dog do with it?
I'm referring to the alleged GOP supporters, not the candidates!
It's gonna be "Welcome back, Obama/Holder" at this rate.
Well, He was a long shot in the beginning. I certainly wanted someone who was not a political insider. I don’t think he’ll worry to long about what to do with it. He’s smart, and if he gets some funds, he should be ok.
I have always liked Newt’s articulation of conservative ideas, and I didn’t mind when he shut down the government. LOL.
After he took on the issue of Judicial Supremacy that closed the deal for me(my favorite pet peeve), I decided he’s probably the best choice. I thought he did well in the 90’s too.
Course I don’t trust any politician any further than I could throw him.
DITTOS
The only way NOOT gets my vote is if it's between him & ZERO.
Then nose will be held once again. . . . Just like '08 and MCLAIM. . .
People who have worked for Newt have consistently commented publicly that he is extremely unfocused and disorganized in his thinking and in the way he attempts to accomplish tasks.
Newt’s a smart guy, but imho, not a good leader. If he can’t manage to get his name on a primary ballot, then he can’t run the country. It really is as simple as that...
"Newt and I" is correct usage.
The comparison, however, is horrible.
Remember, Newt's had few funds until recently; he hasn't been able to build the organization of Romney or Perry over these many months.
Perry's had the money yet 2,000 signatures were disqualified - that's amazing.
Newt deliberately passed on the non-binding beauty contest vote in MO.
It's pathetic VA voters will have a choice between Romney and Paul. Given those two absurdities, I'd vote Paul to protest Romney.
From Miriam-Webster, Anology: resemblance in some particulars between things OTHERWISE UNLIKE
I pointed out the Newt and I not as being gramatically incorrect, but to point out that the writer obviously wasn’t Newt.
Since he said... Newt and I ... I being the person writing it.
Does this look bad for Newt? Yes. However, when Perry, who, despite a lot lower standing in the polls, has ten times Newt’s money, also failed to qualify, as well as Bachmann, Huntsman, Santorum...then there is a problem.
The problem is with Virginia, not with the candidates. Something fishy going on there.....of course, that is quite obvious. :)
Newt DID get enough signatures, (20% over) at over 11,000 when they required 10,000. They later checked all the names and threw out 2,000, based on technical address errors of those signed on the petition. An example;....”John Doe, 110 1st st. anywhere, VA. They threw it out if it was listed as “John Doe, 110 First Street, anywhere VA.
That, and they disqualified Newt on issues they have repeatedly and previously let slide in past elections. It is also the first time they have ever disqualified a candidate for not having at least 400 signatures for each district. which again, they have overlooked in past elections.
So, be careful, don't shoot till you have all the facts.
December 22, 2011: A date which will live in infamy...
Roger that. Merry Christmas!
Ron Paul is a nut, no I’m not voting for him.
