My Dad Has Graduated from this life about 22:00 Mountain Time. All: THX TONS 4 Prayers
Step-Sister's phone call | 7 Dec 2011 | Quix

Posted on 12/07/2011 4:39:55 PM PST by Quix

My Blood Dad is dying in great pain.

He has broken his hip the 3rd time. His vitals are too poor to operate.

They don't even know if they can move him at all due to the great pain.

He has reportedly made his peace with God and forgiven everyone.

Please pray that he graduates from this life as painlessly and quickly as The Lord would wish for him.

Sigh. BIG SIGH.

This is mother's birthday and the day her father died.

Sigh.

I know some prayer threads are in this forum. If this is not fitting, please move it where it is.

I'm more than a little discomboobalated.

Thanks in advance for all the prayers and caring so typical of all of you.

PRAYER UPDATE PING ON SHADOWSTRIKE’S MOM

You might experiment with something like the following . . .

“Mom, we love you dearly. I think you have a lot of evidence of that. You can do what you can to help make our loving you and caring for you easier or harder. Mom, I need you to put yourself in our place and do your best to treat us as you’d want to be treated if the roles were reversed—as we do when we reach out to serve you in this situation.”

Hugs and prayers.

Although I haven’t replied until now, you, your mom and family have been added to my prayers.

I wanted to share something with you in regards to how your Mom is acting, and in addition to what Quix suggested, you might try...

When I’m feeling particularly ill, I do have a tendency to complain a lot. If I sit and analyze my behavior after the fact, I think the thing I was craving the most at the times I was my worst was actual physical comfort. Some people are more receptive as others, particularly in a foul mood. However, you might try to commiserate with her on occasion about how much of a pain it is taking so many pills, and keeping track of it all, and then assure her that the reason you’re helping is because of that — and also emphasize that if it were you, it’d be hard for you to keep track, feel like taking them all as well.

Contrary to sounding negative, it will help her understand that YOU understand and she isn’t “alone”. Lots of hugs are important, too - if she wants them. There is a part of us - especially when we are seriously ill or injured that is a scared little child inside - whether we recognize and admit it, or not. As for medication we are forced to take for the rest of our life, there is a period of rebellion while we struggle with facing our own mortality. No-one likes being ill, and likes even less to have to take reg. medication to keep us as healthy as possible (esp. when it isn’t even as healthy as one once was...).

I’ve been recovering from a bad double ear infection, and I’m having a very hard time staying on schedule with all of my pills - that adds to the depression that the body feels when sick, and can influence mood tremendously as well. And, I’m only dealing with regular illness - not something as critical as your Mom is dealing with. I can only imagine the stress, worry and deep thoughts to be way more profound in her case.

Sorry for writing so much... I think half of my message was an attempt to even express my own feelings. I don’t know if this is what’s up with your Mom, or not. Maybe there are bits and pieces that will help in your situation... Regardless, I will keep you all in my continuing prayers - for patience, strength, peace, comfort and finding moments of joy no matter the situation. :)

The most critical thing is that he was ready to meet The Lord Jesus and had forgiven everyone else.

You have it down to the essence, Quix. I'm so sorry for your loss, and the loss to everyone who knew and cared for your father. Even the most difficult people - like the most difficult pets! - touch someone and are missed.

I'll link the thread back to the current Undead Thread, where you're always welcome for snacks, kittehs, and far-out FRiends.

A number of years ago in Sunday School class we were having a discussion about healing.

First is the healing that takes place naturally.
Second is “miraculous healing” with the laying on of hands and annoiting with oil as mentioned in James.
Finally there is “Divine Healing” when we are absent from the body but present with The Lord.

Prayers continue.

AMEN! Prayer done. I pray for a healing and for HIS will to be done. Whatever HE wants. ALLELUIA!!

But, there is a saying, “ Don’t tell GOD about your problems, but tell your problems about your GOD!!”.

In all things praise HIS HOLY PRECIOUS NAME!

GOD is a funny one. HE loves to show HIS power. Especially when we think HE won’t.

Constantly praise HIS HOLY NAME in and through all things. Then we find peace in all things and situations that seem very sensitive. Just praise and praise and say, “ YOUR WILL BE DONE!”.

Keep praying over and with your father and let him know that he is great and GOD loves him.
Let him know everyday that you love him and never let him know he is sick. Even if he says it.
He is alive.
Alive is the blessing.
Alive is the more time to love him.
Alive is the more time to praise with him.
Alive is the more time to talk with him and hear what is on his heart.
Alive is the more time to show him how much he is loved. Alive is the more time to understand why GOD has him in your life and others.
Alive is the time to constantly grow towards the LORD!

GOD CAN DO THE IMPOSSIBLE!!

Love you, your family, and all in HIM!!

PRAISE JESUS!
