While most Americans are lucky to get a few weeks of holiday every year, it seems the country’s leader gets a little more freedom in the matter.
President Barack Obama has announced his Christmas vacation to Hawaii – for a staggering 17-day trip.
Obama, who visited the island just two weeks ago for an economic summit, will head to Honolulu on Saturday December 17 until Monday January 2.
The president, who was raised in Hawaii until he was six, will be joined by his wife Michelle and their daughters, Malia, 13, and Sasha, 10.
The White House travel office announced the president has no public events scheduled for the trip.
The President's family covers the cost of a private beach front residence in Kailua, Oahu, for their vacation - a ‘Winter White House’ that costs up to $3,500 a day, or $75,000 a month.
But the local and federal taxpayers help pay the bill for travel and security.

Time for another vacation, nothing going on here.
I live near Metro Atlanta and work there. Virtually all of the Obama 08 and Obama 12 stickers I see are on cars driven by black Americans. These cars are not what I’d call first tier. It is a goddam shame these Americans support this freeloading socialist asshole while he and Queen Sheba vacation lavishly all over this world while they drive cars with bald tires.
Occasionally, he will sit through 30 minutes of an hour long Presidential Daily Briefing. But his work days primarily consist of flying across the country to tour a school or building, delivering five minute remarks here and there, and campaigning. Rarely does he do any actual work.
He will have played more rounds of golf in 2011 than his predecessor did in his entire 8-year Presidency.

When he was here last Christmas it cost the City and County of Honolulu $200,000.00 for overtime police pay.
It’s just a comintaion of racism and blind loyalty. Those kind of people are hopeless. That and the two magic words: free money. Obama could commit murder in plain view on the front lawn of the WH and they’d still vte for him. Remember there were prisoners in the gulags who wept when told that Stalin (who put them there) had died. Some people never learn.
Mind you, that's the inconvenience of spending effectively much of your childhood in Hawaii--getting there for vacation in your home state is not in the cheap department even with vacation packages.
They're living in a parallel universe . . . how else do you explain his being unaware of how stupid it sounds to go on a 17 day vacation when most of us can't afford to stay home for the Christmas holiday . . . how else do you explain his rather sizable and grossly overweight wife going around telling us our kids are too fat . . . how else do you explain how stupid he looks being unable to think on his feet and therefore relies on teleprompters . . . and how else do you explain (fill in the blanks).
I’m sure it’s just coincidence he’s leaving town just as Holder is doing a last minute dump of documents on the House committee investigating F&F.

But, of course, SOMEONE still pays for the electricity and heating bills for the ‘home’ in Chicago.
The man really does put personal effort in trying to destroy the US economically.

I would like to see a real count of Obama’s days out of D.C., vacation days, days at Camp David, etc.

Many Presidents, if I recall correctly, spent Christmas AT the Whitehouse so that the employees there can stay with THEIR FAMILIES...
