I’m still on the Cain Train. Giving money to another woman without telling your wife is really stupid, but Cain is still capable of being a great president. I am giving Cain the benefit of the doubt over the left wing media until they produce a stained blue dress. The disparity between how the media treats Cain and how they treated Bill Clinton and B. Obama is incredible, and shows their worthlessness as a source of unbiased perspective.
Wow, these people really want Cain out. They really want the left to win.
Um...have you seen her picture?
I can understand your feelings, but I decided a while back after so many disappointments with Bush after 2004 and even before not to get too heavily invested or emotional about any of them. So it’s “next” for me. Look at it like a business transaction. My objective is to not have the country destroyed to an absolute point of no return and that will surely happen with another 4 years of Obammie. Some feel that the Republicans are taking us to hell too, just slower. I get that same feeling in my gut. But slower is good because something can always happen in between to change the course of history. If you have taken the fast lane to hell and are already there, there’s no chance for a miracle.
Does anyone remember the crap Bush went through with the drinking accusations, the military awol accusations and the abortion accusations? You would think nothing like this ever happened before. How about all the crap Palin went through?
The people here on FR who really want the Left to win should stop and think why they terminate conservatives every time.
>> Where exactly is the blame for the people, the Left, who are actually doing this?
OK. The Left sucks for focusing on Cain’s philandering ways. Especially since they maintain a strong double standard on the subject.
Do you feel better now?
Doesn’t help Cain though. *He* is the root cause of his own problems. If he hadn’t been a serial horn dog the Left would have no ammo.
Remember when the Left tried this crap against Perry? It didn’t stick, because there’s no there, there.
And Romney? Mr. Mormon White Bread? I shudder at the thought of him as POTUS, but you have to admit, this morals crap doesn’t even gain traction, because he has kept his nose clean. Ditto both Bushes. And Reagan. And, hell, even Jimmy Carter.
Cain is not a victim. He brought it on himself.
Thanks for the link at post#12. She says there were hotel rooms. That means this will be EASY to confirm or debunk.
Let’s do it, oh, great blogoshpere. Confirm it. Or debunk it.
We The Public want to know the truth.
So why is it that Democrats get a pass while Republicans don’t?
Remember, the only person who lost his job because of “Monica Gate” was Bob Livingston.
>> So why is it that Democrats get a pass while Republicans dont?
C’mon... licentiousness is a *job requirement* for a ‘rat politician. :-) After all, they work for Satan on behalf of the libertine sector of the population.
Republicans and Conservatives have higher moral standards. Or, at least, they *ought to*.
Bravo, Huck, I love a good metaphor. Second round of applause for "vanity candidacy."
We have a real conservative candidate, pro life, pro family, pro 2nd. Pro small very limited government. And with a proven track record of success. Gov. Rick Perry. You're right. Good man. Good governor. Would make a good president.
But not electable. He's currently polling less than the margin of error. Less than Duncan Hunter in 2008.
The Perry ship has sailed, and Perry's not on it.
True, but it's getting to the point where it's, "Nevermind that s---, here comes Mongo!" Having morals is nice and all, but sometimes there are bigger fish to fry.
Rick Perry has a record of achievement that crushes Newt and Romney. It's the record that is going to contrast Obama.
Imagine if Obama refused to debate Newt. We would be screwed because Newt is not likeable. His only and I mean only strength is that he can debate. All Obama has to do is refuse.
What I don’t get is why this woman went public (assuming it’s true - which is not 100% asssured) when she did. If she truly hates the guy why did she carry on 13 years with him, and if she’s just out for the money, then going to him privately and bargaining for a cushy job for after he got elected would make more sense.
I will admit that your thoughts echo mine. I was enthusiastically supporting Cain since very early on but this all seems to be just too much of this. Mind you, I think the earlier tarts were simply a bunch of Democrat-based, false accusers. But this one, well, as a principled Conservative, this one is too much to let slide.
It does make you wonder how we’ll ever get a solid, pro-conservative candidate. If this revelation had been about a (D) candidate, it would be going down completely differently. You just know that’s the way it is. There truly is a double standard, but that’s because people on the left have no principles, so you can’t violate any of them (except maybe finding out a democrat is pro-life - that’s a game changer to their side).
Sigh.
Well at least Perry has 17 million to spend and a record of achievement to tout. I say he hangs on until the convention.
um, have you seen herman’s wife? or for that matter herman himself? attractive is relative.
>> Having morals is nice and all, but sometimes there are bigger fish to fry.
I consider not only a candidate’s ideology but also his judgment and his character. Especially when there’s no track record of governing to give an indication of how he’d perform.
No matter how Cain may toe the conservative line with his rhetoric, I find his judgment and his character lacking.
I also don’t find his proposals all that appealing. 999 is hogwash, IMHO. His stand on the border is confusing, and his foreign policy understanding is naive at best. He has not been as clear as I would like in his statements of how he would cut spending and rein in Washington either.
When I roll it all up, I can’t find any good reason to support him.
With all do respect. What are we fighting? Communism via stuff like EPA AGW, etc,, redistributing wealth? Crony capitalism, globalist movement, gun grabbers, etc. Now go back to the big picture. Where does the media proclaimed front runners record stand on such major issues? Where does allegations of adultery fit in to those problems? Yes, adultery it is of some concern if it happened but is of little concern compared to the larger issues we are fighting.
Bottom line: If Cain stays in hes gets the votes of the conservatives who are not fair weather lemmings of the media. If he drops out because of family problems then its moving on to the next conservative on the list; which obviously do not include the fake polls claimed current leaders (sic).
I dont condone adultery. However way too much is at stake that is of more importance.
