Mike seems to be suggesting that we send the Yankees to defend the border.
Wonder what will happen if Palin supports Perry or becomes his running mate?
This might be important but this is the only place where I see a news report on it. I don’t think this is actually as big as some here thing. The regular American people probably could care less. Will Republicans really care? i don’t know. This guy has not been able to increase his support after doing many many things so who knows.
It happens on every thread. You should see the NASTY things Perry supporters say about Cain. It is disgusting.
Don't lecture me. I was deeply involved with lobbying on both the Voter ID bill and Burt Solomon's sanctuary cities ban. Perry gets props for scheduling the session, but as soon as his backers Bob Perry and Charles Butt (of H-E-B) came out against it, Perry did not say another word about it, and the bill died.
I second that...
Perry supported AZ’s right to pass the legislation but said that there were some things in that bill that were not right for Texas. From what I’ve read his main beef with the law as written was that it opened up the local law enforcement officers up for civil lawsuits.
Gives him credibility in the immigration area, IMHO. This was one of my main obstacles to voting for Perry. Hmmm.
Actually, there are still a few sane FReepers that have moved to Perry because of the poor character they now see in Cain. They are also not blind to the fact, Newt has never been a conservative. There still remains FReepers with brains who have a thinking process. They do not blinding worship individuals who they support.
Why not think of it as Rick Perry reaching out to the one issue voters to let them know he’s serious about the border.
No, you’re wrong. The liberal, Soros-funded, Texas Tribune said that Perry “twisted arms” in the Senate to get the Bill passed. Also, it went down to the last minute in the 120 day Regular Session and then the Governor added it to the call for the 30 day Special Session.
The Governor hosted the wife of a slain Houston police officer, and made several attempts to pressure the Speaker to move the Bill in the House.
At the last minute in the Special Session, some other, very Conservative leaders like Steve Hotze and Norm Adams came out against the Bill for reasons of their own.
Here’s the June 24 letter from “Norman Adams, the co-founder of Texans for Sensible Immigration Policy and a member of Texas GOP Vote, a conservative website, and Dr. Steve Hotze, the chairman of Conservative Republicans of Texas” concerning the Bill:

wow
good going Perry!
I am currently without a candidate since Cain imploded, I will have to mull this over, but if Perry actually showed some life in the polls.... I think I would prefer him over Newt.
Newt Gingrich is More Dangerous To America Than Obama and I Can Prove It!
Then they will hate Palin. There have been trolls here since this sites first days, like all other sites. Perry is Pro gun, Pro life, A Christian, Has a workable solution to the immigration problem. And no accusations of sexual trysts in his past. You can figure out the sort of people who hate the guy, right?
Perry's wife can hang up this portrait in the Blue Room.
Right next to the portrait of Bush playing border patrol for the cameras.
It's the Rove rope a dope, all over again.
Thank you...but he’ll probably come back and scorn you for lecturing him with one small response post. He can dish it out but can’t take it when others respond with seasoned proof otherwise.
