79 year old Arpaio makes a fool of himself.
Oh, come on. Post the photo of your hero in his ice cream suit.
Not a Perry fan (hi CW!) but this is the first endorsement of the season that’s actually giving me something to think about.
***...and no candidate for president has done more to secure the border than Governor Rick Perry.***
Without commenting on Ricardo, what other candidate for POTUS has run a border state?
It’s like saying the NY Giants score more touchdowns than the NY Yankees. True, but the Yankees don’t play football.
First big Sis Napolitano, now Perry. Joe sure does like liberal big government nanny statists.
The federal government has failed on border crime and border enforcement, and no candidate for president has done more to secure the border than Governor Rick Perry. I have been watching Governor Perry and Texas closely and know his border surge operations with state, local and federal law enforcement officials have helped shut down the illegal trafficking of weapons, drugs and people," said Sheriff Arpaio. "I'm endorsing Rick Perry because we need a tough-on-crime president who will champion and fund full-time border security operations from Brownsville to San Diego. Governor Perry has a superior border security record and plan to make our border and our nation safer."
Your point being?
I made a couple of them. Which one don’t you understand?
Very interesting.
Sheriff Joe supported SB 1070. Rick Perry opposed it. I supported SB 1070 as well. But even though me and the Sheriff disagree with Perry over this, I still see more commonalities that we can agree on.
Rick Perry for President.
Sheriff Joe is a great sheriff, but has a history of boneheaded endorsements - including Janet Napolitano for AZ Governor, and Mittens for President in 2008, and some even worse ones at the local level.
So why do the others seem to think they are experts at doing what they have never done?
And then dropped it like a hot potato when his big money backers (incl. Bob Perry of Perry Homes, which uses thousands of illegals) said to kill it.
Joe only won with 55% last time around, and is now a target of Randy Parraz, who took down Russell Pearce. This will NOT help him in his 2012 bid.
Perry did not. The legislators didn’t pass it in the special session. They are the ones that dropped it like a hot potato. Let’s get the facts straight...I mean when did Perry become King of Texs?
Well, this is a serious endorsement from a man who also understands what it’s like living in a border state and trying to make it safe for the LEGAL residents!
Get over it. He has endorsed Perry proving Perry’s immigration stance. Sheriff Arpaio’s endorsement has been sought after by most of the Republican candidates. He endorsed Perry cause he knows how Perry is over illegals and approves of him. However, it isn’t surprising you are trying to say it isn’t important.
“So why do the others seem to think they are experts at doing what they have never done?”
I agree. Unless you’ve walked the walk, button up!
That philosophy may not be valid in all cases, but for the most part I think it is. Just my opinion.
