ATLANTA -- Herman Cain on Monday pre-emptively denied a forthcoming accusation by a woman who is expected to say she had a 13-year affair with the Republican presidential candidate.
In an apparent effort to get ahead of the story, Cain appeared in a cable news interview to say the woman is "someone who I know, who is an acquaintance, who I thought was a friend."
MyFoxAtlanta.com released some details of the story, which is scheduled to air Monday night, shortly after Cain appeared on CNN -- identifying the accuser as an Atlanta businesswoman named Ginger White.
"It was pretty simple," White told the station. "It wasn't complicated. I was aware that he was married. And I was also aware I was involved in a very inappropriate situation, relationship."

No one cares. Move on. Clinton was accused of brutal, bloody rape of Juanita Broderic and no one in the media gave a crap. Cain is well qualified to be our new president and get this communist out of out of our White house!!. Go Herman!!
WTF does geographical loyalty have to do with this discussion?
Not. A. Damn. Thing.
When I first read Lin Wood’s response it didn’t sit well with me either until I read it a couple of more times. My take, I think Woods was basically saying that Cain would not respond to allegations of this type.
They trotted out several people (annonymous and otherwise) that didn’t seem credible. The media demanded an explanation and had a feeding frenzy. But, it didn’t seem to hurt Cain. His fall came from his own inability to articulate his positions on foreign affairs and a “gotcha” Candy Crowley interview this weekend.
Someone smells blood and they think they can put Cain out of the race for good with the latest bimbo eruption. Maybe they will, but I think what Wood was saying is that there will be NO RESPONSE to this and anything else. A preemptive strike, if you will, against this and other alleged acts.
I don’t know if he did or he didn’t. In hearing him talk over the course of the campaign, I would be surprised if he did. As for motive, the woman was just served with an eviction notice last week and if she didn’t have money to pay her current rent, It’s highly unlikely she has the money to move. So, there is a strong motivation for her.
Further, she has a judgement pending from another lawsuit and if she is unemployed with two kids, winter coming, and no place to live...well what would you do?
For all those on this thread who are quick to accept every word of every accuser that has been trotted out to derail Cain, please do not appear for jury duty because obviously facts mean nothing to you and also check you Enquirer subscriptions, they may be ready to expire.
If she has the goods on him, it will be known in short order. If not, then all those who have been quick to judge have no complaint when smears, lies, and slanders happen not to their candidate, but to themselves.
If any of this is true, it does matter!
If people want to rally around Cain, that’s fine.
But the Cain meltdown is all of Herman’s making. From the poor responses to different interview and debate questions to the women coming out of the closet to claim some type of relationship with him. All on Herman. Not some conspiracy.
I really liked the guy three months ago. But this is why we have a primary. To vet people out. Cain couldn’t stand up to the scrutiny. It is what it is.
From the reports on channel 5 tonight this woman is a single mom who sued someone else for harrassment and has a number of eviction notices. She fits the profile of the other accuser who are just looking for a payday. Its possible that Cain was just being kind to this woman who has struggled financially. CAin did not give her what she needs and so she decides to go public with an affair story. Well see as more comes out about this. But at this point it sounds a bit fishy.
Ha! I can’t believe people think this woman is lying when the lawyer basically implies he did it.
I think that this one might have some substance to it....he isn’t reacting quite right...there have been rumors of something like this for a long time.
The old...”trying to help” BS...I think Cain was unwise to run and should probably go home and have a long hard talk with himself!!!
I agree. I was/am a supporter who is just tired of the ad hominem attacks on all of the candidates. We are our own worst enemy. The media throws red meat in the ring and we attack it like dogs. Do you ever see the other side acting in this manner?
This country is going to hell in a handbasket and unless we the people start electing people that WORK FOR US, we will be on the ash heap of history sooner rather than later.
I am not defending Herman Cain. I am tired of the character assasination of all candidates via inuendo rather than fact.
....Not good.
If Perry or Gingrich were to stage a comeback, they would fall under similar attack by the same drive-by media. The media and the DNC are trying to protect Mitt Romney because they have an “ace in the hole” waiting to be used against him.
Thanks, says a lot. Doesn’t it? Enjoy!
LOL! Thank you, Jim! Marty60 needs to change meds, or something. Maybe take a stress pill and think things over.
Cheers
“If 0bama was really behind this, the time to play this card is AFTER he was nominated.”
Not necessarily. Team Obama may think that by the time the general comes around, that the electorate may be so fed up that they will be disposed to vote for anyone on the other side of the ticket. IF they thought Cain was the strongest candidate, their best hope would be to keep him off the ticket.
A very astute observation.
Sadly true.
I hope the Cain Train runs over you!
Personality disorders tend to get magnified on a discussion thread such as FR. Perhaps that’s why the DNC invitations ot join the circular firing squad excite some posters like Marty.
