This morning the Cain campaign blasted out a fundraising e-mail that included these passages:
I am excited to share a recent Rasmussen (conducted November 21-22) which shows me retaking the lead nationally with 26 percent support. I am leading Governor Romney and Speaker Gingrich by 3 and 12 percent respectively.
Please donate $25, $50, $100, $500, $1000 or more today to my campaign for President.
While I lead my fellow GOP candidates in the national polls, I trail them in one important category: Money.
A reader e-mailed me to point out that in fact, this particular Rasmussen poll was not conducted November 21-22, but November 2. Via Robert Stacy McCain, it appears that the mistake can be traced back to a confusing Newsmax story.
A Cain aide acknowledged the error, but regarding whether a correction or any other action would be taken, e-mailed, We dont plan any further action.
Nothing like making up for shortcomings by surrounding yourself with the best people.
“with a campaign team that already has a perception problem in terms of competency”
Well, they were competent enough to get their name on the Missouri ballot, unlike other candidates who missed the deadline and are out...
“I think Newt is breaking out”
If you vote in Missouri, Newt is not in the race.
Amnesty
Ouch...
Ouch...
I vote in Mo. & was told this year the primary is just a beauty contest & the caucus will be the decider. I know some delegates will be decided by the primary but for the life of me I can’t understand why the change. I guess it could get interesting.
At least he isn’t running for the GOP nominaton using liberal-socialist policy proposals!
When Bill Clinton starts to say he likes a Candidate that doesn't bode well with this Conservative.
If it’s a beauty contest then maybe the pretty cowboy Perry will get the nod. Look, his logo looks like an Easter egg.
But oh the RINOs will thrill that here is someone who “gets along well” with Democrats! When in truth, Democrats should be shown Republicans’ backsides until (and if ever) they get some semblance of sense back.
Actually, I suspect the release of the polling numbers is pre-mature, but will end up being pretty close - considering Newt’s MELTDOWN on legalization of Illegals.
This is the reason why none of the campaigns have taken off to beat Romney. They all, to the last, have hired some of the most incompetent untested, and selfish hacks in memory.
None of them, save Romney, has hired anyone who has the needed political business sense. Especially the only so called businessman, Cain.
I like him too. He's probably not over his head for the office if he could get in, but he's definitely getting a schooling on how dirty politics is.
I received that email and just figured the Cain folks were lying. Looks like that’s the case.
Remember that the "professional" campaign staffers, who make a career out of this sort of thing, tend to gravitate to the establishment-backed candidates. Thus, there are slim pickings for the "mavericks" out there, who must hire staffers who are not as experienced and seasoned.
Once can only imagine the complexity of building a national campaign operation on shoestring budget in a matter of weeks with amateurs. This is what Cain has been faced with since his campaign started catching fire a few weeks ago. Should Cain survive the next couple months and win an early primary or two, he should benefit by hiring experienced staffers from the campaigns of those who are forced to drop out. Should he get the nomination, he'll have all the necessary resources available to him that are currently engaged in other campaigns (Romney, Gingrich, Perry, etc.) as well as the full backing of the GOP. Thus a Cain general election campaign will have zero resemblance to "fly-by-seat-of-the-pants" operation we are witnessing currently.

Isn’t that the truth? Newt’s lame excuse was saving the state fee for other important needs. The fee is only $1000...if that is too high then Newt has got him some real problems...LOL...
