And the fact that he has no record to fall back on.

The "bimbos" the backtracking on issues like abortion or 2nd Amendment, the accusing people and backing off, it all wouldn't have made AS big of a difference if he had a great governing background to compare it to. When your personality is what you're running on it's not enough.

It was stupid to go in front of a lib editorial board, let alone they had a camera. I forget the politician but a few years ago he stopped doing newspaper editorial board interviews because of the “trap” they are.

I think the entire field was designed to fail, in order to split the primary voters and get Romney the nomination with 25% or however much he can get. They didn’t like Palin, they knew she could get more than 25% in the primaries. I think they would have brought in Trump if she had run.

Miller said, “He can’t win”. He’s right.

Talks as if he likes Gingrich.

Yeah, and Reagan didn’t get a job in the media when he became a conservative.

Surely he didn’t just say that with no explanation at all.

Or did he?

It’s kinda Dennis Miller style.

I like Dennis Miller... I think he’s more of a libertarian than he is totally conservative but he’s funny as heck.

I am staying on the Cain Train - I am sick and tired of the media telling us who can and can’t win. I think we showed them in 2010 who has the final say so in that argument.

Millers right.. Cain probably cannot be elected..
They will Palinize him...

Not to speak of the fact 9/9/9 is a mistake..
Although somewhat less than the feds take now in taxes..
Its same old, same old.. with different underwear..

ONLY eliminating federal government agency’s will work..
Reduce the size and “scope” of the federal government before you do any re-modeling..

In that way Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry (maybe Newt) is right on..
After the fed. gov’t is reduced then and ONLY then can you determine the proper tax load..
They could use a little input from Ron Paul as well.. maybe in a consulting capacity..

...Despite his speaking skills, Reagan has of course, been too busy trying to explain away a series of bloopers either to maintain a consistent attack on Carter’s performance or to attract attention to the Republican policies that he has proposed.

Not only has Reagan fallen into uttering such needlessly provocative comments as advocating “official” governmental contacts with Taiwan, praising the Viet Nam War as “a noble cause,” suggesting that Darwinism be countered by teaching the biblical story of creation as well, and terming the current recession “a severe depression,” but his own advisers have jumped readily into the ensuing fray, like a Greek chorus of mourners, to concede in most cases that Reagan was wrong. Says Dean Burch, the senior adviser to Bush: “There is a possibility that the caricature of Reagan will become a reality. We have to guard against it.”

While some of the impulsive Reaganisms may have pleased his more conservative supporters, they feed the doubts about his judgment that bother other voters. Thus the tense staff is trying to set up “fail-safe” systems to protect Reagan against Reagan.

Newt is the smartest one out there, not my first choice, but we need to get rid of that boney ass, commie ,muslim, POS out of power. I really doubt care how.

When my parents turned 50, they sometimes called me by my sister's name. It got worse as time went on. They weren't confused, they knew the moment they said it, and would correct it. It is an “output” problem. They were thinking one thing and said another.

Kinda like reaching into a filing cabinet, and pulling out the wrong file, because it is right next to the one you really wanted.

Cain started to answer the question about Libya, but realized that he had actually thought about a different situation, and had to switch gears, which took him a few minutes to collect his thoughts.

If he were a slick politician, he would have just said no I don't think he handled it correctly, and forced the reporter to ask a followup question which would have given him time to think.

Then he could have repeated the reporter's question to gain a few more minutes. Then he could have said, well let me think about how I want to phrase that answer, so it won't be misunderstood.

By that time he would have had an answer. But, instead he just honestly admitted he had started to answer about a different situation than Libya.

It is a shame, I would like to have the first “real” black President be elected as a representative of the party of Lincoln, which might give others the idea to leave the Democrat's plantation.
