f there was a loser on the debate stage tonight, it was CBS. First, they scheduled their debate on a Saturday night between two major football games. Then they decide to only broadcast the first hour of their 90-minute debate. Then their Internet feed failed for the final 30 minutes. This was CBSs first and only debate and it showed.
Scott Pelley was a terrible moderator. He treated the men who might be the next commander in chief like schoolchildren, cutting them off in mid-sentence, lecturing them to answer his questions. He even lectured Newt Gingrich on policy, telling him that killing terrorist suspects is not the rule of law. Big mistake. Newt smacked him down, explaining that we are at war and in war we are allowed to kill the enemy without a court order.

Bachman looks more intelligent when she puts her hair up.She is intelligent. And she's a good conservative. But she's not a serious candidate anymore. I wish she would quit.
And Romney got the center stage spot. One of the reason’s I do shy away from him is that the libs love him so much.
Bachmann did great.
He was the worst of the bad bunch we've had so far. Before tonight I would have said it was CNN's John King, the guy who would start grunting during the last 30 seconds of a candidate's 60 second answer. As (deliberately) distracting as that tactic was, at least I could still hear what the candidate was saying. Tonight's Pelley would start talking over the candidates at the 30 second mark, telling them their time was up, or they weren't answering the question. He was talking louder than the candidates, so I missed a lot of what the candidates were saying.
I'm hoping the Nov 22nd debate will be more professionally conducted with The Heritage Foundation as a co-sponsor.
Tell me this... Do you want Cain answering the call at 3am? Do you really feel comfortable with that? When the phone rings how much time will he have to confer with his experts and military commanders to get up to speed?
Every time he’s asked what he would do about anything - he say’s he’d have to confer with his experts etc. and then make a decision. Really? How long is that kind answer going to fly? Right now Cain seems like a two trick pony - answer all questions with “I’ll confer with my experts” or “999”.
I’ve been saying all along there is no there there. And it’s going to show more and more the further we go along.
Just my view... flame away...
The fix is in . It’s that simple .
What performance??? IMHO, all candidates held their own, as best they could under a terribly managed, biased, CBS debate. The subject matter is so complicated and interactive, one minute is absolutely not enough time to respond with depth and intelligence. The bad news is, CBS was hoping to rope the Pubbies into this farce. Good news is, they got nowhere, as the GOP boys & girl punched back!!! But......the real low life caper fo the night was CBS saying goodbye to TV after the first hour!!! Nothing more needs to be said!!! Worst POTUS nominee campaign ever!!! CBS should be ashamed. Problem is, CBS is too much living in the hate conservative bubble to know and understand, which is why they are toast!!! LOL
Newt gave the most informative and impassioned response to “Arab Spring,” noting we should not tolerate the murder and burning of Coptic Christians. And, pointing out how Obama threw our very strong ally, Mubarak, under the bus quicker than a New York minute.
WHY do you think they put it here. They KNEW no one would watch it and thus the republican messages did not get out.
Yes, they really are that stupid.
Cain demonstrated a monumental lack of knowledge about foreign policy as well as how to succinctly explain what views he has. He was so out of his league tonight — not ready for prime time.
The final 30 minutes being shifted to the internet while lacking the necessary capacity is unacceptable for a major network. Since the last 30 minutes were on-line, why wasn't Perry allowed to finish his answer? They could trim the feed for time when broadcast the 90 minute debate to the West Coast by trimming dead air at ad breaks/returns.
I’m OK with Cain. Here’s why.
True, he doesn’t know everything yet, but he will be surrounded by military people who understand how to brief him quickly and he’s a quick study. From what I’ve seen from our presidents, their faulty military actions are largely due to indecision or lack of courage.
I love Newt. He’s amazingly intelligent. But I have been around long enough to see him disappoint when we needed him to stand firm. I’m assuming he’s changed since then. I know I have.
But on the standing firm part, my gut is telling me that Cain’s the man.
Of course, I’d vote for either. But I really like Bachmann.
It was pretty poor. I loved it though when they tried to pit Newt agains’t Mitt and he just said no.
Cain still gets my vote. The ONLY ones getting my vote are Cain, Bachmann or Santorum. They are the only REAL conservatives on the stage. I really wish that FREEPERS would see that.
Your assessment of Cain is so perfect. Thanks for being so candid.
“Herman needs to study up on the issues or he’ll lose support to candidates who have. I’m holding off on further donations until I see some improvement.”
I wonder how many of us are thinking the same thing. Is there enough time to get up to full speed?
Back in February, Newt said he would consider Allen West as his running mate:

Saturday he said he’s consider John Bolton for SECSTATE:

Four way debate; Newt/West Vs. Obama/Biden?
I’d wal through ten miles of OWS camps to see that.
