The Big Loser of the Night: CBS

f there was a loser on the debate stage tonight, it was CBS. First, they scheduled their debate on a Saturday night between two major football games. Then they decide to only broadcast the first hour of their 90-minute debate. Then their Internet feed failed for the final 30 minutes. This was CBSs first and only debate and it showed.
Scott Pelley was a terrible moderator. He treated the men who might be the next commander in chief like schoolchildren, cutting them off in mid-sentence, lecturing them to answer his questions. He even lectured Newt Gingrich on policy, telling him that killing terrorist suspects is not the rule of law. Big mistake. Newt smacked him down, explaining that we are at war and in war we are allowed to kill the enemy without a court order.

CBS won't be doing another debate... Good. Their handling of this one was god-awful.
At least foreign policy won't go totally into the trash heap... AEI/Heritage/CNN debate on November 22 will be on this topic.
Oh. And so as not to disappoint. I agree with Thiessen's assessment of Cain's performance.
Better keep studying Herman... Next time folks might actually be watching...

Enjoyed Newt’s smackdown but to be honest I had a feeling CBS would muck it up

Article's spot on. Ridiculous debate production. The moderators need an attitude adjustment among other things.

I don’t understand why the Stupid Party allows their enemies to run and control their debates in the first place.
Are they really that stupid?

Newt did well in that Pelley exchange but really messed up when he detailed potential covert action in Iran (fine), saying it was all “deniable” (very bad).

I was able to watch the last 30 minutes of the feed without interruption. I was able to see what an anal retentive Pelley is.

So NRO and the rest of GOP media can spin as hard as they want about Cain, here is the impression that is going to stick in most Voters minds.

Again, the biggest issue I had with this whole debate was the fact that there was a cut-off, both for the answer as well as for the overall debates. The last 30 minutes might have actually meant something too.
To: TBBT
Didn’t watch it. I’m still boycotting everything on CBS ever since that degenerate bastard Letterman made that ‘rape’ joke about Palin’s 13-year-old daughter, followed by his grotesquely insincere ‘faux’ apology. Still makes my blood boil thinking about it.

Apparently so. Can't figure out the GOP on this one.
So far the best debate has been one that was setup by a Tea Party organization, that Newt and Cain participated in. It's unfortunate that other candidates turned them down on a similar debate.

CBS wins if very few turn in to watch the republican debate..
They ARE the other team.. not kinda like the other team but full out enemies of republicans..
The republican idiot that allowed CBS MSNBC or CNN to host these events should be SLAPPED HARD... then spat upon..

I have to wonder if Scott Pelley ever has made or would make that point to Obama, who actually has killed terrorist suspects.

Man, the CBS streaming sucked deluxe.
Cain looked like a man asea talking about foreign policy . . . again. He seems to be befuddled on international affairs. Perry looked pretty good in comparison, but no one can match Newt.
CBS deserves nothing but criticism and that Scott Pelly . . . what a jerk.
