In 1928, Herbert Hoover was elected POTUS with 58.2 percent of the vote and 444 EVs to Al Smith's 87 EVs. During the Great Depression of the 30's, which started during his first, and only, term the encampments of the homeless and unemployed were named: "Hooverville". An empty front pocket pulled out of one's trousers was called the "Hoover Flag". He was decimated in the 1932 Election by FDR garnering only 39.7 percent of the vote.
Some have begun to "tag" these "Occupy" Encampments as "Obamaville". This clever, little ploy needs to pick up some steam in order to identify Obama's failed policies as the enemy of the people, not Capitalism. Then, we'll see how proud Nancy Pelosi and Michael Moore would be to identify with the "movement". It would be politically devastating for President Clueless.
I sending emails to folks I know and posting on with the image info so they can get it printed into signs or bumper stickers at any local Kinko's or whatever shop they have.
i’ve already been doing it.
I completely agree with you!!!
OUTSTANDING idea and an OUTSTANDING thread!

Thanks for the ping to the thread, Baynative. Another BTTT for a GRRRRREAT idea!
I don’t know where I first saw it but I liked the idea so well I’ve been spreading it around. I think I’ll grab a copy of cripplecreek’s graphic to go with it.
That oughta piss ‘em off ;-)
Sounds like an easy enough transition.

This thread is made of sheer AWESOME!
We started working on them this morning on this website. Cymbaline came up with the graphic and I’ve been littering hyperspace with it ever since.
Brilliant!
Your Post #53: That is excellent. Sent it to folks on my e-mail list. Thanks.
Great. Just a suggestion...

Searching for my lost freedom of choice
I wish I’d had my camera handy earlier last night! I live in Utah, and in downtown Ogden, there is at last a “Occupy” movement; believe it or not! It was called “Occupy Ogden”! If there are on this thread tonight, any Freepers from around the Ogden, UT area; or any who are familiar with the area, there was a group of them on Wall Ave. down in front of the new IRS building, about a block or two from the Front-Runner train/UTA bus station. To be fair, it was a very small group of about a dozen people, fairly quiet and behaved so far as I could see. I’ll give them that, at least. Oh they had their signs, one of them had “Occupy Ogden” on it.
My Mother and I were riding up Wall Ave. to see my Dad at Ogden Regional in S. Ogden. I told her: “There is one of those groups of “Occupy” people, for crying out loud!”. She agreed w/ me. She was disgusted like I am, about the way some of them act. She watches “Fox News” a lot, and she heard about the disgraceful incident in Wash. D.C. w/ the gang blocking the convention center, not letting people out, and using kids as human shields. On the way back though, I didn’t see them, but it was dark and cold out.
I didn’t see any tents or any groups of people laying around sleeping. I think it’s because it was such a small group, and it was quite cold out! I’m betting there are probably some in Salt Lake City though, and probably a larger group! There are a lot of liberals and leftists in Salt Lake City.
That is a great idea! I like your line better. Thanks!
hehehehe! That is a good version!
Good idea!
