Rupert Murdoch must have imagined Steve Jobs would be a feisty dinner guest. Even still, the News Corp. chairman couldn't have foreseen that, in one night at the mogul's Carmel, California ranch, Jobs would call his tech people incompetent, get a guy fired, and say that Fox News was literally destroying the world.
Walter Isaacson's new biography of the Apple co-founder says Jobs railed against the conservative news channel and tried to convince Murdoch to shut it down. His comments came at the 2010 iteration of News Corp.'s annual management retreat. Isaacson writes:
In return for speaking at the retreat, Jobs got Murdoch to hear him out on Fox News, which he believed was destructive, harmful to the nation, and a blot on Murdoch's reputation. "You're blowing it with Fox News," Jobs told him over dinner. "The axis today is not liberal and conservative, the axis is conservative-destructive, and you've cast your lot with the destructive people. Fox has become a destructive force in our society. You can be better, and this is going to be your legacy if you're not careful." Jobs said he thought Murdoch did not really like how far Fox has gone. "Rupert's a builder, not a tearer-downer," he said...

He is gone now.....move along, nothing to see here. 98.6
not 98.6.....room temp.
Steve Jobs - Innovative technology genious; political, social, moral, ethical moron.
Much ado about nothing. FOX at best being center RINO. I guess even sainted rats need a boogey person.
Jobs must have got into snorting his chemo.
Flash-back from his acid trips?
What all of these fellows taught is that attempting to build a personal philosophical and moral structure under Zen standards has absolutely nothing to do with how much money you can make or how smart you can be.
Which means, of course, that their brand of Zen is useless.
But which company would you rather own stock in? I’ve made very little from Microsoft, made a lot from Apple.
I just wonder what happened when these successful people sold the rest of us out (and I think sold their souls to lucifer). Did they consciously sell their souls or was it just lack of judgement? The way they bash conservatives and Christians tells me it was a conscious decision and they have a contract with lucifer they must now keep.
I stopped watching about six months ago and have been much happier since.
Let's face the facts kiddies, FNC is slightly to the right on CNN. It has followed the RINO philosophy of moving as far to the left as possible without totally alienating conservatives.
If you want to delude yourself and keep watching go ahead. I'm sure Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes appreciate you as they laugh their way to the bank.
I own very little stock in either one. I’m into planning my retirement; if I make it that far that is.
I guess it’s true that some “genuises” are absolute nutcases otherwise.
Haven’t seen more than 100 hours of it in the past decade but I cannot imagine that endless mortgage commercials where ‘INTEREST RATES HAVE CHANGED’ interspersed with perseveration over gary condit/rich dead woman in bermuda/brittany spears/indiana parking lot spankings/missing persons/dead michael jacksons/etc are a destructive force in our society. Were cartoons on his hit list also?
Lucifer has nothing to do with it. Jobs and Buffet and the rest of that ilk are simply selfish animals. How rude and selfish do you have to be to demand that government confiscate more money from neighbors, friends, and complete strangers? How rude and selfish do you have to be to walk into a polling place on election day and VOTE for government to confiscate more money from neighbors, friends, and complete strangers?
Sure was destructive to him in ‘98.

Fox, pure evil.
Then again, it fitted the need... sell.
Oh by the way, i’d be just as evil not to include what was said about him recently (shakes head, I don’t know how Neil lives with himself):

Well, my job is done here... and it only took 15 seconds.
Scrub away my lovies.
Before you do, video on that last one. (I have a hand drive and I know how to use it).
re_tail, thanks for playing.
You are making the case that they unconsciously sided with evil due to their greed. I look at the coordination of what they say and I am convinced they willingly sold their souls and are parroting what they must now say.
One doesn’t need to be ‘rude and selfish.’ Believing that the ‘common good’ is more important than individual rights and individual judgement is more than enough to conclude as he did.
