Germany Is Already Printing Money - Deutsche Marks
Seeking Alpha ^ | October 26, 2011 | Graham Summers

By now everyone realizes that the euro is in major trouble and will no longer exist in its current form for much longer. However, the common view is that it is Greece and possibly other PIIGS countries who will be forced out if the eurozone is broken up.

But few are talking about another possibility- of Germany leaving the EU.

One who is talking about this is Dr. Pippa Malmgren, a former economic advisor to George W. Bush and a former advisor to Deutsche Bank (DB). According to Malmgren, Germany has already ordered the printing of Deutsche Marks in anticipation of a possible withdrawal from the EU.

< snip >

We also have reports of Sarkozy and Merkel screaming at each other in recent meetings. France has announced plans to possibly nationalize several banks just “in case.” And Germany has dropped more than a few hints that it’s fed up with the situation.

Heck, even mainstream “thinkers” like Alan Greenspan says the euro is “doomed” to fail.

Something very bad is brewing behind the scenes. The Sarkozy- Merkel talks, the short-selling bans, the halted stocks, the leveraged EFSF, the hints of QE 3, all of this is telling us that the financial system is on DEFCON 1 Red Alert.

< snip >

So if you have not already taken steps to prepare for systemic failure, you should do so now. We’re literally at most a few months, and very likely just a few weeks, from Europe’s banks imploding.

I’ve seen many articles in the last couple of days elsewhere. People just aren’t posting them to FR. I posted two more above in the thread.

Italian deputies in fist fight over reforms
Wed, Oct 26 08:02 AM EDT

ROME (Reuters) - Italian deputies exchanged blows in parliament on Wednesday as tensions over a tough economic reform program came to a head.

At least two deputies from the Northern League, a member of the ruling center-right coalition, fought with members from the opposition FLI party of speaker Gianfranco Fini. Two deputies grabbed each other by the throat as other parliamentarians rushed to separate them.

The parliamentary sitting was suspended for several minutes after the fight, which broke out because of sarcastic remarks on television by Fini alleging that the wife of League leader Umberto Bossi had retired at 39.

Dark humor.

Breakups and collapses always have violence accompanying them and resulting from them.

Probably smart of them. They are the only country in that mish-mash that has an economy and who blames them for not wanting to bail out all the losers in Europe!

We need to take a note of this and quit bailing out every entity that is going belly-up in this country!

Re: Ooooh. A relatively strong Germany feels opressed. What could possibly go wrong?

Maybe the German National Anthem, Deutschlandlied ("Song of Germany") may tell us... something.

(BTW The French Stew, Colette... sang it on "Pan Am" and made it sound rather pretty.)

In German:

Deutschland, Deutschland über alles,
Über alles in der Welt,
Wenn es stets zu Schutz und Trutze
Brüderlich zusammenhält.
Von der Maas bis an die Memel,
Von der Etsch bis an den Belt,
|: Deutschland, Deutschland über alles,
Über alles in der Welt! :|

and now in English:

Germany, Germany above everything,
Above everything in the world,
When, for protection and defence, it always
takes a brotherly stand together.
From the Meuse to the Memel,
From the Adige to the Belt,
|: Germany, Germany above everything,
Above everything in the world! :|

Vell, I alvays like zee tune... as it pepped up mein spirits!

This is what all the financial gurus have been saying since the beginning of summer.

Buy gold.

If you’re stupid enough to have Ameros, you’ll probably want to exchange them for euros or obamos.

They might be useful for wrapping your preparation H on hot days...

The premise was flawed from day one. You really can’t have monetary union without political and economic union. Since the EU can’t force countries to be austere, the austere get punished by the profligate.

Perhaps it will last a couple more years or decades, perhaps Germany and others will leave or others may join... but with the vastly different cultures and without political union this was bound to happen. Germany is inflation-phobic while other countries are used to printing their way out of problems, so they were headed on collision course all along. Southern Europe is used to paying off labor unions with money and time off, and like us overspend on social programs and industrial subsidies. Northern Europe is more productive, more austere, and less ‘generous’ with their unions and social programs. And though the government remains a partner in many of the biggest German industries they are actually very profitable, which means they don’t have to subsidize people, cities or companies.

Germany is not printing Deutschmarks ... they never quite got round to destroying them.

Ah, now THAT sounds German!

Heh - every now and then I buy a tiny bit of silver, if I really scrimp. And a small bit of brass/copper/lead.

Gold is way beyond my means!

And then there’s Muzlims.

I doubt the whole EU thing will last very long. The whole world is insane right now.

If you’re looking for wisdom from Wall Street good luck brother. The Street’s leadership has been copted by the Marxists. It cannot own up to the demise of the Euro and European Union because it reflects badly on them and the Usurping Marxist Onada.

The Marxist regime in Washington is trying to force America down the same road that’s taking Europe to the abyss.

Germany is holding a losing poker hand. Throw in the cards now and lose 40% or double down on the come. Hard to tell because socialists are the most illogical group known to man and will never admit they were wrong.

I warned everyone over there before they entered the EU to make sure there was a way out of it, if it didn't work out, since from experience, I knew that leaving a union once it is formed can go very badly, just ask the confederate states.
