‘Occupy Cleveland’ Protester Alleges She Was Raped

CLEVELAND, Ohio (CBS Cleveland) – An “Occupy Cleveland” protester tells police she was raped in her tent over the weekend.

Cleveland police are investigating an alleged sexual assault incident Saturday at the “Occupy Cleveland” rally involving a 19-year-old female student from Parma.

According to police reports, the 19-year-old student was instructed by “Occupy Cleveland” personnel to “share a tent with the suspect due to a shortage of tents.” The suspect identified himself as “Leland” to the woman. The woman told police that after she had thought the suspect went to sleep in his own bed, she slept in a sleeping bag provided to her by the rally

The student went to school Monday and told a teacher about her sexual assault incident in Public Square — which is being classified as “kidnapping/rape” — prompting the teacher to immediately contact the authorities.

“Occupy Cleveland” is one of many movements taking place nationwide in the wake of “Occupy Wall Street,” which is protesting against corporate greed.

If I’m not mistaken, the next entrance west is 130th. North on 130th to 71 and it takes you nearly into Public Square.

Actually, she could have walked across the street to Tower city and hopped a red line Rapid down to any of the stops south of the city and then an RTA to Parma.

When parking got too much down there, I took the Rapid from the Brookpark Road terminal. It’s not hard.

There is something fishy about this whole story, or this woman is the perfect nanny-bot. She does what she is told, doesn't complain to who told her to do it, waits until she gets to school, tells her teacher and then files a complaint. Not one mention she resisted, screamed, fought back or anything? Consults with her teacher and doesn't know enough to call the police on her own? Not credible.

I think most of Parma would just get on 480 from Pearl road, 1/2 block north of Brookpark. Take 480 east to the Jennings Freeway. north to 71, which turns into the innerbelt, to downtown. Jennings is pretty new.
