The following is summarized from San Antonio television news reports.
At two o'clock this morning at least three men entered the Bexar County Courthouse in downtown San Antonio, Tx. They were apprehended by San Antonio police as they left the building.
Three suspects were arrested. Two others are being questioned by police and FBI agents.
Terror related concerns were raised when cameras, unspecified documents, and a travel itinerary were found in the Winnebago in which the men were traveling.
KENS-TV reported the itinerary was extensive and included visits to a number of "sensitive" areas. The station reported the men are possibly foreign nationals, possibly Morroccan.
San Antonio military facilities increased their security alert posture. The National Security Agency has a large facility in San Antonio.
No information available on how or why the men entered the Courthouse. No web media reports available as yet.
Go figure....We have enemies inside the gates at 1600 Penn.Ave. now I guess.
It’s the sheriff who says they’re only burglars, not terrorists. Can this report be accurate? If it is, WHO is the sheriff taking orders from in Washington?
ON another note..I couldn’t sleep last night and so watched a Senate hearing on our bio-defense on CSPAN. Bottom line...Obama and the democrats have gutted bio-defense spending and they are begging for more funding. One expert testifying that we are better off than we were on 911, but worse off than we were three years ago.
Obama at work destroying this country!
I dunno but he sounds like an idiot.
What courthouse is open at two in the morning?
Waterboard all five, and call up Hitchens and waterboard him again for good measure...
“What courthouse is open at two in the morning? “
The police say the “burglars?” got in through a fourth floor window.
I agree with waterboarding all five. Considering the information found in their vehicle, It’s a matter of national security.
Google News now lists 172 online articles relating to this incident.
This first thread, posted as a summary from local news stories when online media was not available, has been removed from Frontpage News and Breaking News. A later thread remains in Breaking News. (Not anymore.)
For Noon in San Antonio I've set DVR to record all local news and will post a summary . . . with links, if available. I'll do the same for the local evening news broadcasts.
Typical of stories now online is this one from the Wall Street Journal: San Antonio Break-In Spurs Probe.
Five foreign nationals were arrested Wednesday after a break-in at a county courthouse in San Antonio and investigators found 90-day visas, maps, cellphones and computers inside a rented RV parked outside, authorities said. The men, all in their 20s, were unarmed when they were arrested about 1:30 a.m. at the old Bexar County Courthouse, said sheriff's department spokesman Louis Antu.
Three of the men were caught inside. The others were outside near the RV, which had California plates but may have been rented in New York, Mr. Antu said.
Mr. Antu said he had no information to indicate the break-in was related to terrorism and that the incident was being investigated as a burglary. He said Federal Bureau of Investigation and federal immigration agents were called in because the men aren't from the U.S. and authorities are working to determine their nationalities.
"We're in the process of finding out what was going on or why they were in the building," Mr. Antu said. "We got ICE and the FBI involved because we're dotting I's and crossing T's to make sure we don't have anything more serious."
They're down playing any connection with surveillance relating to Jihadist terror. Can't really blame them, for several reasons, including the panic reaction I, for one, felt in the aftermath of Timothy McVey's Oklahoma City bombing. Still . . .
There's much more of this type of info gathering muslims are doing nationwide. These guys got caught but one sure does wonder about all those not caught! Close the dang borders!
Sheriff's department spokesman Louis Antu told the Associated Press that there's no information to indicate that the incident might be affiliated with terrorism. He said the case is being investigated as burglary of a building.
Sherriff trumped the FBI in denying it is related to terrorism. I am sure it was just your run of the mill burglary /s.
This just reeks of a planned multiple event pending the gathering of all the info needed to carry it out...along with "waking" the cells in cities to implement it.
Full agreement!
Yep, move along, nothing to see...
90 day visas and breaking into a courthouse. Let's see, what might they find in a courthouse... hmmm, birth and death certificates and all sorts of other documents containing US citizens' IDs. When the heck are we going to stop issuing visas to every Abdul, Mohammed, and Asshir?
The time for pussyfooting around is over. PROFILE!!
Fox News now saying they were drunk and in a court room wearing somberoes and waving them around with a gavel.......WTH?
LOL..are we gonna buy this crap?
I never dismiss these stories.
Somehow they always seem like a dry run.
The fact that they got IN to the CH is bad enough. I’m just wondering if some Drug Cartel guy is going to trial there?
