An establishment republican ran to the left of center and lost the election. As he deserved to. If the 3rd party candidate had not been outed as a nutjob, he would have been elected. A point that is conveniently forgotten by the gop rah-rah squad.

But I was one of the frontmen who really took a trashing. The last pre-announcement Palin thread I was on, where my comments were divided into objective analysis and mocking those who couldn’t stand those analyses (which now turn out to be true), I had 15 or so vile and hateful posts directed at me AFTER I LEFT THE THREAD AND SAID I WAS DOING SO.
I agree we need to find a winner and stand behind him or her. There is NO perfect candidate. Even Reagan wasn’t perfect (remember his amnesty signature?).
If there is a message we need to get out, it is the perfect is the enemy of the good.
That and “I was right, you were wrong, Icky Woods End Zone Dance in your face!” That message is really important ;) :)
No I will not vote for Romney under any circumstances. I will leave the Presidential vote empty on the ballot. I would vote for Congress and the other elected offices down the ballot. Sorry there is line I cannot cross and that is voting for Romney.

I actually had that same meal lined up (and it would have REALLY hurt since some of my detractors were pretty doggone hateful).
I really did do the analysis work and concluded that Gov. Palin wasn’t running and her delay in stating so was unhelpful.
But she just as “easily” could have defied logic (to a point, this really was at the edge of the timeline) and tossed her hat in.
My life has been quite busy lately so forgive me for missing this..

I will not, repeat, will not vote for Romney. I am still beyond pissed that I was forced to vote for McCain. I will not do that again. I will not vote for Romney. I will stay home with all the food and guns and ammo and lightbulbs and everything else I’ve stockpiled and watch the world go to hell.
