While defending his call for the rich to pay more in taxes, the president said he didnt mind people calling him a class warrior for merely asking a billionaire to pay the same tax rate as a Jew. Whoops!
The president meant to say janitor instead of Jew, and he immediately corrected himself. After all, he doesnt need any more problems keeping Jewish voters enthusiastic about his re-election bid.

No one is demanding specifically who, by name, in Washington DC, knows the truth about the corruption and illegal activities within this Administration and is remaining silent.
I keep fantasizing that the GOP, House and Senate members, in a huge group, congregates on the steps of the Capitol and one patriotic leader goes to a microphone and tells the American people the truth about the corruption within this Administration, at every level, and calls for investigations, prosecutions, impeachment and prison time for those found guilty. Anyone find it amazing that we don’t have one patriot with spine and guts willing to protect and defend this nation.
Thank God our military has what it takes to defend us overseas.
I'm not sure of the origin of it is in the Muslim religion, but taxes on Jewish residents (and other "dhimmis") have been the rule in Muslim countries for centuries.
He didn’t confuse ‘Jew’ with ‘janitor.’
He was simply talking, said BILLIONAIRES, then the next NOUN he spoke was JEW.
This is because when 0bama says “billionaire,” he thinks “Jew.”
I'm sure that I just missed Abe Foxman's angry diatribes over this outrageous antisemetic insult. I'm sure that I'll be able to hear him all the way from California any minute now, I'm sure...
Mark
You won't get any argument from me about Foxman's ADL. They are unquestionably more circumspect about antisemitism on the right than antisemitism on the left, even though the latter is by far the larger problem in the US and the western world today.
It's a bit of a problem to call this an "outrageous antisemitic insult" in and of itself. But if you factor in Obama's considerable history, you would have to say that the Freudian slip is consistent with his anti-Jewish inclinations.
BTW, Foxman's office is located in New York (a stone's throw from the UN), not in California.
Deserves at least as much media attention as the “Barney Fag” gaffe got.
A “Jew” tax???!!! This is huge and reveals more about his thinking than the MSM wants us to know.
I think I heard of sonething similar to this...let me think...
...oh yeah, Germany, circa 1933.
Revenge for the NY special election.
More likely he was thinking of being Jewed, a common phrase in some communities. Low taxes, as a verb, jewing. Not that odd, but that’s just me, I’m sure he simply mispoke, confusing Jew with janitor. A respectable job which many Jews did on arriving in this nation. But you’re correct, the concept of a Jew tax isn’t a new one, other than in America.
I might disagree with your use of the term slip, which implies the statement, actually heartfelt thought not meant to be expressed, might be more accidental than heartfelt. Not with you, since you understand the origin, but with others who might use the term, a slip often implying accidental, as in not heartfelt. As though we're going to hear about this in the mainstream.
George McGovern wasn’t an antisemite.
Before the election? That leaves the impression that they released it after the election. Which they haven't, and won't.
I was curious as to what the Obama administration must be holding over Netanyahu to make him say that Obama has been as good an ally to Israel as Bush. Something doesn’t add up because he’s done everything he can to alienate and humiliate Netanyahu personally. His policies have been completely anti semitic.
I was thinking his slip of the tongue may have been that he wanted to equate billionaires with Jews because he hates both unless they donate to his campaign.
That's possible. Jews he knows are rich contributors, some billionaires.
Discussing this with friends today, we concluded that it came from an assumption that those who weren't paying their fair share were Jews. Who else wouldn't pay their fair share, in pursuit of a pound, or even a few ounces, of flesh. Irrespective of wealth, or tax bracket. The One's most outspoken budget supporters like Buffet and Immelt aren't paying much, but they're not his Jews, thus not worthy of criticism. Not that he meant any of this, he was speaking of janitors.
You can bet that's the least it would be called if it were a republican or a tea party member. That was my point.
Mark
That's another possible reading of what really was on his mind. Equating Jews with greedy capitalist pig billionaires plays into standard antisemitic stereotypes of Jews all too common in leftist circles.
It was the first thing that popped into my head when I watched the video.
We all know he listed to Reverend Wright curse the JOOOOOOOZE every Sunday.
