I was thinking that his slip of the tongue may have been that he wanted to equate billionaires with Jews because he hates both unless they donate to his campaign.

That's another possible reading of what really was on his mind. Equating Jews with greedy capitalist pig billionaires plays into standard antisemitic stereotypes of Jews all too common in leftist circles.
