US Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry regularly touts his successes during his three terms as Texas Governor, but in Texas, there's not too much satisfaction with the work he has done, according to a new poll.
The poll by Public Policy Polling showed that only 45 percent of the state's voters approve of Perry's job performance, while 48 percent say they don't approve, Politico reports.
It, however, said that a majority of Texans supported Perry over US President Barack Obama.
Perry leads Obama with 51 percent support to the President's 44 percent.
The survey of 569 Texas voters was taken from September 15 to 18, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 percentage points.
PLus, remember we don’t believe polls. Except if they are really good for our candidate, then we love them and post them multiple times.
“Is he running?”
No, and there is no evidence that Palin will run, either.
Right. That's why they reelected him after all that stuff happened.
Right.
It has nothing to do with the fact that Texans would elect a ham sandwich over a Democrat.
They had a primary choice, and a third party choice. And I should have said after this stuff allegedly happened, becuase most of it is either mischaracterizations or just bunk.
Sure, but more recent polls there of Palin aren`t nearly as glowing.
This, plus his praise for Hillary's efforts to nationalize healthcare are Perry's most befuddling actions.
It has nothing to do with the fact that Texans would elect a ham sandwich over a Democrat.
Seems to be a very low opinion of Texans.
No. A low opinion of Democrats. I’m just saying a Republican getting elected in Texas is not much to crow about.
Seems to reflect the election results that anyone with an "R" next to their name on the ballot wins statewide office in Texas, regardless of the quality of the individual candidate.
Perry is fortunate he's never had to run for office in a competitive two-party state and all his opponents in Texas were even lousier than he is. Rod Blagojevich managed to continually be re-elected in Illinois with 30% approval ratings due to the same factors (horrible opponents who were even less likable than him, and completely powerless opposition party that didn't even make a real effort)
If Perry is chosen as our candidate, I will gladly vote for him - or Cain, or Bachmann, Romney or (cough!), even Paul. If Sarah gets in, then so much the better.
Considering what we have now, any of them would be a vast improvement. If this country can survive the idiot currently occupying the White House, any of them can only improve the situation.
It cracks me up these Saint Sarah PDS folks, googling negative Perry stories to post here. I guess after she announces she’s not running & by the way I’m quiting my marriage too, ya’ll be jumping on the Perry wagon then. Hey but thanks for all those speaker fees while I was keeping ya’ll hanging.
No, I’m not lying. He didn’t veto the bill.
He “yielded.”
Another day and your pushing the daily Axelrod propaganda poll !
Is it getting anxious for you Obots over in Daily Koz DU world !
The sad truth is that our own news media doesn't provide as thorough or as in depth coverage of our politics and their foreign counterparts.
For the most part, we have to rely on blogs, FR type media or go out of the country to get a perspective on many stories.
The lame stream media in this country has long since gone AWOL.
That’s because the first didn’t happen at all and the second happened in the very early weeks and was faint praise, diplomatic words to remind her of one aspect of the consequences of her actions.
According to PPP on this mentioned survey:
569 Texas Voters
36% Democrat
44% Republican
20% Indep
What they considered themselves:
10% Liberal
14% somewhat Liberal
26% Moderate
26% somewhat Moderate
23% Conservative
margin of error +/- 4.1
And Perry had the highest polling rate against Obama than the other Republican Candidates.
Who did you vote for President in 2008?
John McCain..... 50%
Barack Obama.... 42%
Someone else/
Don’t remember .. 8%
