US Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry regularly touts his successes during his three terms as Texas Governor, but in Texas, there's not too much satisfaction with the work he has done, according to a new poll.
The poll by Public Policy Polling showed that only 45 percent of the state's voters approve of Perry's job performance, while 48 percent say they don't approve, Politico reports.
It, however, said that a majority of Texans supported Perry over US President Barack Obama.
Perry leads Obama with 51 percent support to the President's 44 percent.
The survey of 569 Texas voters was taken from September 15 to 18, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 percentage points.
Or the Alamo.
It’s odd how most of the candidates don’t seem to be liked in their home states.
Governor Sarah Palin had the highest approval ratings ever measured by the Gallup organization for any governor.
There is and never was any such plan “to combine Texas Health coverage with that of Mexico.” There was a study on the feasibility of changing the Texas law to allow private insurance companies sell private insurance policies that would be good for 60 miles on either side of the border.
As to the TTC and Gardasil, the People spoke and the Governor yielded to the public will.
Sometimes politicians run for President to raise their stature in their home State.
I ALWAYS rely on “News Track India” for superior coverage of US elections.
How about during the second half of her term?
Oh, wait...
As all of us do.
If we’re going solely on longevity/experience, we’ll be nominating Gov. Terry Bransted of Iowa, not Gov. Perry. Look it up...
Is he running?
Governors aren’t often wildly popular if they have been around as long as Perry, it’s natural if the poll is correct.
LOL
THe latest rating I could find for her was this poll: 36% Favorable, 61% unfavorable
A prophet has no honor in his own country.
Of course, she's not a candidate. Meanwhile, my governor is riding pretty high in the polls.
Maybe we should draft him... s/
BTW, he was a neighbor of mine for several years and would be a much better president than the incumbent or many of the lunkheads on our side...
IIRC, she’s no longer governor of Alaska. Mr. Perry is the current chief executive of Texas.
Mitt’s ratings in MA couldn’t have been that good, he only served one term.

She fought the RINOS and won every lawsuit. And she retired to save the citizens from more taxes to pay for the frivolous lawsuits. She also dealt with the oil company and brought more money to the state.
Oh yeah, Texans hate Rick Perry, that’s why he’s been elected here fire times for public office. How many republicans do we have in this state? And yet we chose Perry every time?
My God what a load of BS!
Why are you lying? Perry didn’t “yield” anything, the Texas legislature voted with a 2/3rds majority to throw out his Executive Order on Gardasil. They had rejected it and he still tried to shove it down their throats. Nice try.
