OK Debby Downer.
Hey, I'm usually a big optimist and I know enough to keep my mouth shut before the polls close. But this race reeks of one that the Dems will steal. A possible upset in a heavily Dem district that's been Dem since 1922? Plus, keep in mind that Weprin is a gay "marriage" supporter and this has been an issue during the campaign. His morality-challenged friends will use any means necessary to drag him across the finish line.

Very cool. My mom is descended from Johannes Nevius about whom there is a huge genealogy book. They were a very devout group back in the day - several missionaries, pastors, and all-around prayer warriors.

Hiya nutmeg!
I don’t have cable, so down here in Virginny I’m relying on FR for the results.
This district is where I grew up!

Good to "see" you again. I haven't been on FR as much as usual over the past few months...
Are you in NY-9?

Looking at the numbers at 1130, I see Wprin pulling this out with 51-52 %. He’s doing much better in Queens than I expected and I don’t expect Turner to keep a 70=30 lead in B’klyn.

Long Island City is in Queen — just North of Brooklyn and separated by a creek.

To: tatown
This district last went GOP in the 1920’s. I think I heard 1924.

Petersen was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-seventh Congress (March 4, 1921-March 3, 1923). He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1922 to the Sixty-eighth Congress.

Weprin is a gay "marriage" supporterWhich is why he's getting clobbered in the Orthodox Jewish neighborhoods.
Relax, we've got this.

Can't disagree with anything you are saying, but I am cautiously optimistic.
The numbers right now suggest it is going to be a razor close finish. As always, it depends on which districts have reported vs. which ones are still out.
Turner seems to think he has it. Sure hope so!!
