the Texas Dep't Of Natural Resources site is way behind, so are most news reports, the fires are outstripping news so I was hoping there would be a running thread somewhere, thanks.

We would have one but we can’t see our computer screens through all the smoke.

If you change your location to Texas, you can see the Texas forum and we have an ongoing discussion there.

I hear you. For the first time we are getting smoke haze, a lot. 80 miles west of San antonio.

See if this helps!

We are up in NE Texas and the entire town is blanketed in smoke. It is like a weird SciFi movie. We are right under the tip of the smoke plume in the NE area on this satellite view.

I work in Irving (Las Colinas) and I’m told the haze outside is actually smoke from fires West and South of town. Don’t know if they’re telling tall tales.

THANKS. These E TX fires are too close for comfort. Will refer back to this map regularly.

On the west side of I35 by Austin and the wind has changed so we’re getting some of the smoke. Just slightly hazy out but I’ve been coughing and eyes have been watering up today.

They really are making me nervous. Way too close.

I used this link:
http://inciweb.org/state/45/ to keep track of the Wallow fire in AZ and other fires around NM earlier this year. They update pretty regularly (daily, if not every few hours). Currently it shows 59 separate active wildfires within the last 30 days in Texas.
