A coy Sarah Palin talked a lot yesterday about the type of leader this country needs, but in what is turning into an extended national tease, she stopped just short of saying she will be that leader.
"I don't know yet," Palin, the former Republican vice presidential candidate turned best-selling author, told the Herald yesterday after her rousing midday speech at a Tea Party Express rally.
A fed-up Victor Luebker of the Armed Forces Tea Party Patriots [team stats] - a group of former military men and women who support the Tea Party's platform - said he's tired of Palin's games.
"She needs to declare and decide now," said Luebker, who did not attend the event. "The Tea Party is not a movement to sell books or make news for the sake of attention; we have serious issues facing our country."
Others, though, say they'll wait as long as necessary for Palin.

With age, sometimes comes senility.
No you don’t. If I was trolling believe me you would be given my honest opinion of your smarts.
I know a manipulative forum nanny when I see one. GO ahead and tell on everyone who doesn’t play your way.
Nice!
The liberal republicans come from the old rockefellar wing of the party that pre-dates Reagan and the conservatives.
This is just what Palin was talking about. Are they silent because they owe favors? Are they afraid?
I just shake my head.
The liberals in my family only know what the news media and late night comedians tell them about Sarah Palin. They sound exactly like you when they speak of her.
I told my kids that if I start posting Dr Seuss, take my keyboard away. ;-)
I woke up after seeing the video of the confrontation between an Alaskan resident and Todd when she asked him if they sold out. His answer and demeanor said it all.
Yes, they go all the way back to Teddy Roosevelt, when the "progressives" set out to take over both parties.
Both flavors of progressives derive their roots from the Trotsky/Lenin opposition.
Lenin advocated using radicalism and violence to institute world-wide communism, domino-style.
Trotsky advocated the use of democratic socialism as the tool to institute global communism.
Progressive Republicans of the past century have followed the Trotsky model. Democrats have favored the Leninist model of radical militancy.
Both the Trotskyites and Leninites favored the Gramscian process of "a long march through the institutions", whereby socialism/communism would be accomplished by incremental infiltration and control of every corner of society: academia, political parties, government agencies, churches, businesses, markets, and on and on.
Don’t forget “the Donald” has also said he might run 3rd party if he doesn’t like who we nominate.
That would be a tragedy. He proved he was all mouth and folded like a cheap suit.
He sure scared the the Chicoms. NOT
Fixed it for ya.
Have a nice day.
Do you know the terms of her contract with Fox? Are you familiar with every clause and stipulation it contains? Is she paid a flat annual fee, or is she paid per appearance? If it's a flat annual fee, is it guaranteed, or is it contingent upon a set number of appearances or contributions by her?
You don't know the answers to those questions, do you? Neither do I. For all we know, she could be paid per individual appearance. She is a contributor, after all, and not a regularly scheduled commentator or host. We have no idea whether she's drawing a paycheck from Fox or not.
That said, do you begrudge her the opportunity to earn a living while she's engaged in political activities? Sure, she sounds like a candidate on the stump lately, but not having actually announced her intention to run, it can't be said that she's violating the terms of her contract in any way.
The day that Newt announced, his contract with Fox was effectively suspended, but are you telling me that prior to that moment, he made no speeches, nor gave any indication of getting into the race? Should Fox have suspended his contract because they thought he was starting to look like he was running?
I haven't seen that video. What did you get out of it?
I posted a link to the fox story in one of these threads where the fox legal top honcho said that if anyone on their payroll is an official candidate they will be given the same options as Newt and Santorum, Sarah Palin included. It has to do with the equal time clause of the FCC.
Now, some are saying she’s been running but not officially running because it would cost money from the campaign etc. It’s more a jab at the people who think it’s just fine to basically lie about intentions while drawing a paycheck. I think it’s hypocritical of her to do that if she knows she’s going to run and is basically campaigning without being up front with her employer. She’s the one preaching about being ethical and above reproach. She should practice what she preaches then.
This “tease” comment is purely sexist. What about Obama taking a month to release his economic plan, that’s not a tease?
Mark Twain once said as he gets older his memory is not so good, but when he was young, he remembered everything, even things that didn’t happen.
Maybe you have that same memory quirk? In order for Perry to have never been liberal, Al Gore would had to have been a conservative.
Reagan we have proof of a true conversion, not so easy to say that about Perry, well easy to say, harder to prove.
Can't disagree with that, but like I said in my previous post to you, we don't know the precise terms of her contract, or how she's paid. I haven't seen or heard of her making an appearance as an analyst on Fox for some time now. For all we know, she could be paid by the segment, and hasn't received a paycheck from them since her last appearance.
I think it's jumping to conclusions to state that she's being hypocritical and cheating her employer. Many professionals (such as myself) have contracts with companies, but are only paid on a 'per job' basis. No work performed = no pay.
Until I have more data about this, I'll reserve judgement.
Works both way my friend, works both ways.
I am just being polite, with the friend thing, I doubt we would ever be friends in this life.
It is perfectly clear that you have no clue what I meant in that statement. Just electing the other guy is not necessarily a win. Especially if are both trying to accomplish the same thing. Surely you have watched enough shows on TV to be familiar with the Good Cop, Bad Cop method.
