Sarah Palin mum on presidential ambitions during Iowa speech
Yahoo! News ^ | Alex Pappas

Sarah Palin said it is important whom Republicans choose to run against President Obama, but didn’t directly address whether she’ll join the 2012 presidential race during her much-anticipated speech before a tea party crowd in Iowa on Saturday.

The former Republican governor of Alaska and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee referenced the 2012 election many times throughout her remarks, calling out the “permanent political class,” “crony capitalism” and “entrenched political interests.”

I’d like to see her announce an hour or two before Bambie’s jobs speech.

Now THERE is an idea worthy of The 'Bamster himself!

I guess you’re right. I’d vote for her if she ran for Governor of Hawaii again, though.

"JackAss," eh? Is that your very best argument in support of Palin? Bwahahahaha, that's pathetic.

And no, I am not "afraid she's going to announce," I'm just amused that she hasn't has no intention of doing so in spite of all the hyperventilating that has been going on.

Palin is rapidly losing any credibility she has by playing these cutesy games. If she does announce, she will get an initial burst of support and then quickly fade into the background like Bachmann.

Her credentials fall well short of Perry's and Romney's for that matter. Governor for two years is sort of like Obama's Senator for two years . . . a fair start.

I'll add that she is also going to need help from the “establishment” GOP that she seems to have chosen as her primary talking point in terms of feet on the ground.

Unless, of course, she is going to run as a 3rd-party candidate, which I won't rule out. I actually find it more likely that she takes that approach than she declares as a GOP candidate. If people want anti-establishment candidates, Ron Paul has already declared for the race. I don't support him, but I don't recall him campaigning for John McLame and fundraising for him in the AZ GOP primary.

I disagree. The longer she delays, the MORE she advances the cause of Rino candidate Mitt Romney.

First, it divides the conservative vote.

Second, it freezes the conservative voter so that he/she has trouble moving forward.

Sarah Palin as president? Is that the best that this country has? We’re are then in trouble.
Please.

First, it divides the conservative vote.

The whole reason it is divided is because there is a vacuum of actual conservatives.

Once Sarah declares, the race unifies around her.

It's called "strategy."

Evidently you only believe in it when it benefits your candidate.

Tell it to the Marines ???Basically I was saying.... ya right

When you do not quite believe/agree with something someone was saying...Tell it to the Marines is kind of a fun loving way to say...hey I do not buy what you are selling, that`s how I meant it, no malice intended.

The conversation between you and unkus back and forth I thought called for it.

Cary Grant used the expression in a very good movie...He needed to fool the Germans while doing a propaganda radio program...he was able to say ...Tell it to the Marines during the broadcast, it went over the German censors heads, and it told the folks back home what he was saying was not true.

The expression goes back to the Royal Marines... Google the phrase if you are interested, quite a rich history to the phrase...more than you wanted to know..

To me it simply means...ya right fun loving sarc

You sound pretty pumped up! Maybe you should run for POTUS.

Some citizens like Sarah like making millions writing books, appearing on TV and having a blast goading their liberal tormenters for kicks and giggles. It’s like 24 Hour news cycle judo.

Maybe she cares more about her family than power. She is not running.

You know, you're right.

It's obvious that Sarah has spent the past 3.5 years building up the credentials to crown Rick Perry King.

How could I have been so blind?

</sarcasm tag for the intellectually vacant>

No, I believe strategy should be debated.

I don’t like this strategy. I’m not fond of Lee’s strategy at Gettysburg, either.

I honestly don’t think Sarah Palin needs you or your support, particularly. She really needs to be herself and work with people of like minds and goals.

That’s not you.

“I watched the speech on CNN and switched to C-Span when it was over (Fox News did not show it but had pre-taped regular Saturday afternoon viewing — maybe wanted to avoid potential legal problems with the FCC if she had announced during the broadcast).”

Fox News is a very profitable, extremely low budget operation that has virtually no field team. They keep using the same “talent” over and over. How many times in a week do you see Karl Rove, Dick Morris, Bill Kristol, Juan Williams and Charles Krathammer in a week?

It is definitely RINO-neocon, but there are conservatives that swear by it just as there are those who believe the WWE isn't fake.

She has not engaged in any money making endeavors for months and months now, though she still has her FOX gig.

No new books or shows or paid speeches, none.

So much for that meme.

Today she gave a televised speech outlining “her plan” to get this country back on track. Only people who are going to run for office announce their plan for when they win that office.

She is most certainly running.

Ms. Palin needs to either put up or shut up ... tired of the will she or won't she. Makes one weary ...

Damn you tire easily
