Solyndra Filing a Disaster for Obama

President Obama faces political catastrophe in the form of Solyndra -- a San Francisco Bay area solar company that he touted as a gleaming example of green technology. It has announced it will declare Chapter 11 bankruptcy. More than 1,100 people will lose their jobs.

Nice article - thanks. Mine’s a 2008, but no real diff in the truck. It probably is a 4 speed, tho’ I’ve never noticed that 3rd shift up. Stupid AT shifter has 1, 2, and D, and that’s a 3 speed to me. 35 years of driving, and it’s the first automatic I’ve owned.

Hate that part of it. Haven’t had their transmission probs, but it’s a 2wd, Detroit locker aot 4wd. And I only have about 25k on it.

I saw my first Dolt (and only so far) out here in West Texas, a black one with big silve lettering on the side, saying VOLT. The small town dealer had three year supply of trucks on his lot and the empty field next door.

The first privately-owned non-dealer one I ever saw was broken down by the side of US 80 being loaded onto a flatbed.

I’ve seen a couple non-dealer ones since, but it doesn’t seem to be catching on, at least not here in Dallas.

FYI- GM sold 302 Volts in August. No breakdown between fleet and retail yet.

August production at Hamtramck was just shy of 3000 for the new 2012 model, so there should be good availability soon, so we’ll soon see how big a dud the Volt is.
