WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama on Saturday personally led his government’s response to Hurricane Irene, marshalling top officials and visiting a disaster command center as the storm roared ashore.
Obama greeted officials at the National Response Coordination Center (NRCC) set up at the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) headquarters in Washington, and then held a video conference with federal and state officials.

Between Bush and Obama they have made America a country that is now afraid of its own shadow, everything is a crisis, everything is dependent on government. A small earthquake gets labeled as some huge event, hysteria, a cat 1 hurricane although this will bring much inconvenience there is serious overblown hype and threats of impending doom...
Obama is all about the FEAR.... FEAR FEAR FEAR he wants America afraid..... It’s time to stop the FEAR.

BTW: If you saw the national news and the reporting from Ocean City, MD - this isn’t ANYTHING like Hurricane Isabel in 2003.
I was project managing the renovation of a beach-side condominium in Ocean City that year - evacuated all of my workers, but I stayed behind to cut commercial power to the building should the ocean surge breach BOTH sets of dunes that protect the building.
It DID breach, but only a couple of inches of water came up to the base of the building - so no cut in power was needed.
Irene hasn’t even breached the first dune yet [if ever] - and most of the worst is already over in Ocean City ...

About how this is clearly the polar opposite to the media Lie about Bush’s response to Katrina, then watch for reports of the man on the street being reassured by Barack the Growth Slayer’s leadership.
Followed up with skewed polls that will literally resurrect him plummeting approval and their endless marveling of the Obama renaissance.
Just as the media bias made a lie out of Bush’s Katrina response, media bias will make a miracle out of Obama presence.

Meanwhile, over a million people in eastern NC and southeastern Virginia begin cleaning up their own downed trees and dealing with significant flooding and storm surge, totally ignored by the MSM because the good folks of the Southeast are (a) not in New York and (b) not up Obama’s ass.
BTW, the “maximum sustained winds” line from the NHC discussions aren’t propaganda. It’s an estimate based on data from the Hurricane Hunter aircraft fly-throughs. The strongest winds on a hurricane are typically in the northeastern quadrant near the eyewall, so if there are still hurricane winds in Irene, they’ll show up on the Long Island beaches when the center of the storm comes onshore. Also, they’re the *maximum* sustained wind...the sustained winds will probably be lower, so in most areas, Irene will feel like a tropical storm.
