WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama on Saturday personally led his governments response to Hurricane Irene, marshalling top officials and visiting a disaster command center as the storm roared ashore.
Obama greeted officials at the National Response Coordination Center (NRCC) set up at the Federal Emergency Management Agencys (FEMA) headquarters in Washington, and then held a video conference with federal and state officials.

Maybe they’ll stick him in a room with dummy knobs and phone, and let the competent people deal with the situation.

A different take:
That link says the flight-level winds are 85, but puts surface speeds at an estimated 70kt.
The discussion goes on to say this storm is unique in the difference between surface speeds, and flight level speeds.
Definition of a hurricane: 64kt or higher.
Did the One order the waters not to rise?
OK, I thought I was reading “President of the United States SEALs”........
HUSSEIN would screw up a free lunch.
OMG, LMAO! Priceless.
Good point. The other factor involved here is that open water areas will have higher winds (Kitty Hawk). When it hits land it weakens. So I’m still going with Propaganda. They are telling the Public that they will be hit by 80MPH sustained winds, while failing to tell the public that they need to be in a Airplane to get the full effect. Bull Cr4p.
“The discussion goes on to say this storm is unique in the difference between surface speeds, and flight level speeds.”
Find me a storm in the world that doesn’t have this same result, unique? The Intellicast site that I have been using for reference, has the difference in ground speed winds and air speed winds, anyone can learn this with a few clicks of a mouse.
He so hands on, dreamy.
Are you kidding? He was the first down the rope at the bin laden compound........//s//
Live feed of everything he’s doing to the folks out there in television land who don’t yet realize how great he is, of course.
This has to be the most ridiculous article ever posted. Obama is incapable of leading anything.
Where was The One during this years flooding in Nashville? How about the flooding in Memphis? Sorry, I forgot. Tennessee is a red state. /sar
It appears there are *some* wind measurements in the 60/70mph range, but not a lot. The storm spotters on weathertap are seeing occasional high winds. There’s a report of 60-80ft pine trees uprooted and a 3” flag pole snapped off at the base (source = amateur radio). A report of 66mpg winds at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Seems to be a lot of road closures due to downed trees, including part of I-85.
OK, do I win anything?..:=)
Two-pronged approach:
1. Pull the standard democrat tactic of trying to use selective re-counts to up their numbers while working the courts (SCOTUS -- new appointees to help out?) to try to "interpret" election laws to suit them, and;
2. Work the 0/Chicago tactic: Discard 'civility' and invoke some trumped-up anecdotal hyperventilations about perceived (invented) disenfranchisement as a rationale to put out the call to the 'loyal' ('bought') base to "take their anger to the streets".

I shamelessly stole that. It must be repeated often and wide. It should be on billboards everywhere.
Is this satire?
LOL, Obama’s such a fool I doubt he even wipes his own behind! I certainly got my laugh for the day so for that my friend, you win the Laugh For The Day prize.
It is to us!
