** Did Perry go too far? A day after appearing to outshine Michele Bachmann on her home turf in Waterloo, albeit with some tough rhetoric aimed at President Obama, Rick Perry might have gone a bit too far in criticizing Obama and even the Federal Reserve while campaigning in Iowa yesterday. For Texans, this is typical Perry. But for Americans who do not know him, it's eyebrow-raising rhetoric. In fact, he sounded more like Trump or Gingrich. "I think the greatest threat to our country right now is this president trying to spend his way out of this debt," Perry said last night in Cedar Rapids, per NBCs Carrie Dann. (A greater threat than international terrorism?) When reporters asked if he believes Obama doesnt love America, Perry responded: You need to ask him. And then he upped the ante in remarks directed at the Fed. "Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost treacherous or treasonous in my opinion," Perry said, per Dann. He went on to say that promoters of such an idea -- hinting but not naming Ben Bernanke specifically -- would get an "ugly" treatment in his home state of Texas.

Gov. Perrys comments about Chairman Bernanke are inappropriate and unpresidential, Tony Fratto declared tonight in a tweet.
Fratto, a former Treasury Department and White House official in George W. Bushs administration, Managing Partner Hamilton Place Strategies and founder of RooseveltRoom.net, a web site for Bush alumni.
Perry was speaking at a stop during the second day of a three-day campaign swing through Iowa home to the first-in-the-nation presidential caucuses.
If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I dunno what yall would do to him in Iowa but we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas, Perry said. Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost treacherous or treasonous in my opinion.
The audience applauded his tough words.
As Perry continued, he echoed the longtime critique of the Fed often articulated by Ron Paul, the chair of the House Fed oversight panel and a 2012 GOP presidential rival.
Weve already tried this. All its going to be doing is devaluing the dollar in your pocket and we cannot afford that, Perry said. We have to learn the lessons of the past three years that theyve been devastating. The President of the United States has conducted an experiment on the American economy for almost the last three years, and it has gone tragically wrong and we need to send him a clear message in November of 2012 that new leadership is coming.
Bush selected Bernanke to replace Alan Greenspan as chairman of the Federal Reserve. President Obama renominated the Republican economist.
Asked by reporters today about former President Bush, Perry demurred.
George Bush is not my opponent, Perry said. Hes a former president......<<<< Source

Why do Liberals have so much trouble with cold, hard logic?

This is the kind of drivel one can expect from the Chrissy Matthews network.
You can never go too far in criticizing this POS they call the POTUS.
Nothing about that quote bothers me. What bothers me about Perry is when he starts talking about illegal immigration. Jorge Bush was bad enough. We don’t need a Ricardo Perry.
Of course Bush’s boys are defending their arsonist at the Fed.
This shows Perry is not a Bushie, and he may well be a real conservative, unlike the fake Bush.
FWIW, I'm open to convincing :-)
No, I don’t think Gov. Perry went too far at all; in fact, I think he is spot on!
Now, would a full-fledged RINO like Romney, McCain, etc, be making comments like this?
to be perfectly honest, it is refreshing to see someone that will take on the demonrats.....no milktoast here. I guess the media is really going to start losing their minds over this!
Perry is a conservative Democrat & master politician. He’ll run right to win the Primary and then center to win the nation. It is a solid strategy. The WH’s criticism of “his” Texas miracle is correct.
Once he’s the frontrunner, Palin will withdraw and anoint him.
I’m interested to see how he fairs against Romney. I don’t think the race will be between anyone else from now on. Bachmann will be a potential VP to shore up conservative credentials for both of them.
Although if Perry is seen as the “conservative” in the race he’ll have to go to the Country Club to get a VP candidate.
What is most humorous, is that they are using a Bush Administration official to support their attack on Perry.
a jerbalist scam here.
I don’t think there’s any way Bachmann is a VP pick. I give that zero chance.
Agreed. Perry is a fighter. Let him strike bloody terror and wake America up from this nightmare!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, he didn’t call them terrorists or anything like that. Having said that, maybe he should have for what they have done to this great nation.
Wow it’s amazing how libs play the international terrorism card when under different circumstances they refuse to admit it’s an issue.
Yes our internal problems are more severe than our external. We can withstand attack but we are being eaten alive by parasites. Like termites. They are destroying the foundation of the USA.
Why “zero”? Do you mean she wouldn’t accept or wouldn’t be asked?
