On his bus tour, President Barack Obama said the federal health care laws individual mandate, which requires every American to purchase health insurance, should not be controversial. To date, 26 states have sued the federal government, arguing that the individual mandate is unconstitutional because the U.S. Constitution does not grant Congress the power to require Americans to purchase a good or service. Heres the problem if an insurance company has to take you, has to insure you, even if youre sick but you dont have an individual mandate, then what would everybody do?

The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Proof positive that he is no Constitutional scholar (as if we needed more proof).
Slaves must obey their masters. There is no other option.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard a more arrogant utterance in my life.
It leaves “let them eat cake” in the dust.
should not be controversial.
Just do as I say. The law be damned.
That has nothing to do with it. He’s propagandizing.
Obama can be tone deaf, if those are the right words, to describe how blind he seems to reality. Doesn’t he remember the struggle over healthcare, and the fact that the whole darn bill was controversial? Each individual piece of it was controversial. When new provisions were revealed after the bill passed, which we didn’t know about up front because nobody could read the 2000 pages before it was passed, they also became controversial.
Well, Barack, it was controversial enough that many lawsuits were filed to test whether that law is even constitutional. I know that offends your liberal sensibilities, but that’s the situation.
Here’s the problem, Zero. If every American wanted to buy health insurance, he would. If every American wanted to eat arugula, he would. If we don’t want to, you don’t have the authority to force us. We will take you down, you pipsqueak Mugabe wannabe.
Hey, 26 states out of 57 isn’t even a majority...:^)
It isn't the leats bit controversial, or won't be, exactly onse second after Obama can show me where he gets the authority to order anyone to buy anything.
Really? Before YOU require Americans to do something, you should be required to:
a) verify your birth documents
b) verify your social security number
c) verify your Selective Service Registration
Oh, and there should be an investigation regarding that pesky Rezko land deal...
quote “Heres the problem if an insurance company has to take you, has to insure you, even if youre sick but you dont have an individual mandate, then what would everybody do? They would wait until they get sick and then youd buy health insurance, right?
well DUH!
we TRIED to tell you this before you passed this POS legislation! But NOOOOOO you wouldn’t LISTEN then!
How sweet, Obama just made our case for us for why the WHOLE law has to be thrown out.
The individual mandate CAN NOT be seperated from the rest of the law, for EXACTLY the reason HE just laid out. If the court finds the mandate unconstitutional... then it HAS to throw it all out, there is no other choice.
He has no idea. Especially since he is immune.
JP Morgan Chase has already warned employees of drastic coverage changes ahead, to be revealed this next health care coverage ‘season’ in late autumn. It’s August, and employees already know this.
According to the great Obamanation, it... “shouldn’t be controversial.” Yet for some strange reason, Americans hate it! Could it be they don’t like being told they have to buy something to take care of illegal aliens and deadbeats who won’t take care of themselves?
The Individual Mandate is not controversial, it is unconstitutional. Nothing controversial about it being unconstitutional.
