Which raises the question, what kind of person runs for office, gets sworn in, and then a few months later, runs for a different office?

What is highly important In the Palin polls is that CONSISTENTLY the number of people who say they have not heard of Sarah Palin is a mere ONE percent.

She has been keeping a low profile but once she comes out publicly in whatever format, this name recognition can create a “wave election” victory for that very reason.

Obama won on an anti-Bush wave. She can win in a similar anti-Obama “wave”. None of the other candidates can.

If we could link Palin and Newt Gingrich we would have an unbeatable combination of Newt’s political savvy and her charisma to TRULY save the country. Neither are “politics as usual” people and would implement real solutions.

Thank you, Professor Dumbledore. I'm not mocking. You are quite right. The media hates Palin with Twelve Purple Polish Passions. It's like she personally peed in their Wheaties machine.

You've got to wonder if ANYONE could overcome that hatred and if she did, how long before some secular humanist peace lover tries to kill her, so he can be pardoned by Obama.

If Palin is such a failure, then you should have nothing to worry about, she will fade instantaneously. But if she announces and then kicks butt (she really does have her head tied on tight), then you must promise apologies to all for your condescending analysis that speaks of doctoritis.

Let me see, Bachman also had high negatives not long ago as well.

If they say 40 you can take off 10 points.

But, if you take 10% off the Fox poll on Palin, 65% of the nation still don't think she'd make a good President.

If Palin is such a failure, then you should have nothing to worry about, she will fade instantaneously.

Yes, she will fade very quickly, as "The Undefeated" faded into DVD oblivion by Week 2. However, her extremely fanatical Cult of Personality will keep on going full steam and, in a close general election, they have the power to tip the election in Obama's favor.

Look at how many of Palin's followers have said, right here on FR, that if she is not the nominee, they will either sit the election out or write in her name. Look at how every candidate that is not Sarah Palin is automatically smeared.

That fanaticism, which cares more about irrationally worshiping a politician than saving America from an Obama second term, is precisely how a Marxist like Barack Obama can get reelected President of the United States.

But if she announces and then kicks butt (she really does have her head tied on tight), then you must promise apologies to all for your condescending analysis that speaks of doctoritis.

If Sarah Palin ever "kicks butt" in the Presidential campaign you be sure to FReepMail me and I will post a vanity on Free Republic to say that you were right and I was wrong and to eat crow and grovel in abject apology.

As for my analysis, it is data driven. As a radiologist, I do not communicate directly with patients. I communicate with other doctors who expect me to come up with the correct answer and not the answer that they want to hear. I analyze data, I tell it like I see it and I have to be correct or face the consequences. If I were to be wrong, Mother Nature would end up doing some extremely nasty things to some patient and that patient's doctor, along with that patient's lawyer, or the surviving relative's lawyer, would proceed to rip me a new one.

If you want somebody to cuddle your Inner Child, tell you what you want to hear and tell you that everything is going to be alright, I'm not your guy.

Let me see, Bachman also had high negatives not long ago as well.

"Had"?

As in "used to have but no longer has"?

Ummm.... You missed a huge lesion in the liver, Doctor.

You focused all of your attention on the good-looking Republican lobe and never carefully examined the "ALL voters" lobe that is riddled with cancer.

Bachmann still has very negative polling ... As a matter of fact, Bachmann's negatives (among ALL voters .... not just the Republican Echo Chamber) are getting much, much worse and have crossed into toxic territory.

FIFTY PERCENT of ALL voters now believe that Michele Bachmann will NOT make a good President.

========================

FOX News Poll: (August 7-9, 2011)

22. – 31. I’m going to read you a list of names -- for each one please tell me if you think that person would make a good president or not. If you have never heard of a person, please just say so.

................................YES.........NO.......DK.....Never heard of

Michele Bachmann
.. 7-9 Aug 11 ...........22%.......50%.........11%.......16%
..7-9 Feb 11 ............10%.......39%.........11%........41%

========================

Those negatives will skyrocket once her opponents air ads showing her "submissive" video. Nobody wants the finger of a "submissive" Commader-in-Chief on the Nuclear Button.

VIDEO:(At 1:25) Michele Bachmann tells a megachurch audience that she did what Marcus Bacmann told her to do, regarding her post graduate education, even though she did not want to do it, because she says it is her religious duty to be "submissive" to Marcus Bachmann

You are focusing on the fact that Michele Bachmann is gaining ground with some Republicans. However, Republicans make up only 29% of all voters. Winning the Republican popularity contest and $1.29 gets you cup of coffee at McDonalds.

By focusing only on the Republican lobe and neglecting to examine the "ALL voters" lobe, you came up with the rosy scenario that many Republicans want to hear. "Bachmann is doing great!" That, however, does not change the cold, hard fact that Bachmann's cancer-ridden "ALL voters" lobe makes her a dead candidate walking.

That is not what you wanted to believe about Bachmann but that is the reality of Bachmann. In my profession, I deal with reality ....... not with false hope.

The primary fact that comes through is that there is no candidate deemed worthy. That of course cannot and will not be. One will prevail and be nominated.

Once the wheat is separated from the chaff, once the clutter is removed, views will change. It is so far from the decision time, most of this journalistic fodder tossing is irrelevant any way.

I would not center the election solely upon defeating Obama.
It could very well be an election against Biden for all we know as Obama may not be around.

The best resume I have read is the one from Sarah Palin.

It’s just that some people see Palin’s reliance on talking points for what they are, the tool of a fake. You may not like it, but it’s the truth. When people have truth in their heart, mind and soul, they don’t need talking points. And they can deliver a punch much better. Palin is a fake.

You missed the point, they are propping up Obama by more than 10 points, while at the same time going the other way with Gov Palin.

You're missing the point -- that adding 10% to Palin's numbers still wouldn't make her a viable candidate. Sixty-five percent in the Fox poll still don't believe she'd be a good President. Forty-eight percent of Republicans believe she wouldn't be.

Even if you took 10% from Obama and added 10% to Palin, she is only even in the polls, according to the RCP averages.

I'm not willing to take, at best, a 50-50 chance of allowing Obama to get reelected when Perry is almost a sure thing to beat him.

I won’t say zero paralysis, some weakness on my right side, but I do all the normal things just sometimes a little slower (no jogging for example, though I could some when I was younger).

[No more settling for me...”Game Over” if the true conservative is not given a shot.....]

This time is different, we are really sunk unless someone can lead the charge. The deficits are soooo huge that the country will collapse. While I can applaud Bachmann and Cain and even toleate Perry, this really is a civil war. I think Palin may be the only one both tough enough and able to rally the troops.

Sarah Palin joined a probably unelectable John McCain who had no chance of winning.
Her addition to the ticket, almost allowed him to beat one of the most charismatic candidates in many election cycles.

Not sure why people think she can't win!

Well, great for you. I’m a mechanical engineer, I do things which can also get people killed. So please get down off your high horse. Engineers are practical people, they have to consider the human element in designs. I’ve spent years dealing with the “perceived risk” issues related to nuclear waste (which also happens to be a deadly topic). You have fallen for the “availability hueristic” model of fear perception, which says basically that people can’t get over their irrational first take on questions. Well, that is hogwash. So just get off the “I’m the rational doctor” soapbox, I know all about the polling data. A lot of people didn’t like Patton either, he didn’t always poll well even on our side, but he was as oft as not the man of the moment.
