White House unveils broad plan to fight domestic radicalism
LA Times ^ | 8/4/11 | Brian Bennett

Posted on 08/03/2011 8:20:57 PM PDT by NormsRevenge

The White House announced a strategy to help police, schools and other local organizations counter the threat of domestic radicalism, a broad plan involving federal departments not usually associated with national security.

The effort is modeled on anti-gang initiatives developed in the 1990s and programs intended to prevent school shootings like the tragedy at Columbine High School in Colorado in 1999.

Although short on details, the eight-page outline for the first time called on all parts of the U.S. government, including the departments of Education and Health and Human Services, to devise ways to help communities identify extremist agendas that could lead to violence.

Wednesday's announcement came a week after the arrest of U.S. soldier Naser Jason Abdo in Killeen, Texas. Abdo was charged with possessing an unregistered destructive device after a gun store clerk tipped police that he had behaved oddly while buying gunpowder. Abdo planned to blow up a restaurant frequented by soldiers stationed at nearby Ft. Hood, authorities said.

At his arraignment, Abdo yelled out the name of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist who is accused of killing 13 people and wounding 32 during a 2009 shooting rampage at Ft. Hood.

Congressional investigations into the Ft. Hood shootings revealed warning signs that could have tipped off authorities.

Intelligence reports indicate that Al Qaeda has tried to recruit Americans to launch attacks on U.S. soil.

Thirty-one American citizens or permanent residents were arrested between May 2009 and July 2011 in connection with homegrown terrorism plots, according to the Congressional Research Service. Those arrests within a two-year period contrast with 21 such arrests in the previous seven years.

The vice president of the U.S. and "progressives" persist in spreading dangerous lies that their political opponents namely the Tea Party movement members are terrorists.

One purpose is to make the progressives "'seem opposed to fascism' when, in fact, the administration [is] pursuing totalitarian policies. Too few Americans today know of this travesty, a shameful blot on U.S. history."

That actually is a comment about something to which I compared what the Obama Administration and progressives are doing today with what FDR himself directed against political opponents 70 years ago.

I want to mention the comparison again because a cursory search for information about the Great Sedition Trial of 1944 will yield tons of acceptance -- from the Left -- that these anti-communist opponents of FDR were Nazi supporters. That is a lie.

As one of the prosecuted explained in the reference I provided above FDR's DoJ included convicted Nazi supporters in the group of the accused for the sole intent to support the lie that all were Nazi supporters.

After years of persecution which began before the war started the efforts were finally denounced by all except the communists and their dupes.

Harry Truman as president fired the DoJ prosecutor and even the Washington Post editors -- whose employee helped FDR's DoJ entrap the victims -- denounced the years-long efforts and said that a mistake "was made in bringing 30 individuals of widely varying temperaments and backgrounds to trial at the same time and place for a series of alleged offenses classified as sedition."

Also the purpose of the president of the United States of America himself going after this group of "little people" was because it was merely a "warm up". The real targets were the likes of Republican Senator Robert Taft.

I hope Washington-insider Republicans take a look at all aspects of the Great Sedition Trial of 1944.

Now they will have kids turning in their families for being Tea Party activists.

That must be why the big push to label the Tea Party folks as terrorists.

These people rival Hitler in their evil plans.

Advice to all parents: You must, MUST instruct you children to NEVER answer any questions,(outside of any Tests), that any school will ask.

Tell them, they are never, EVER, to answer any written survey type paper asking these questions.

Tell them, that if asked, they are to say "You must speak with my parents", you see, they do not have a representative (lawyer, if you will) there to assist them and their answers could/will be incriminating.

Use the "I have a right to remain silent" without my attorney or parent.

At this time parents are STILL in control.

P.S.: how many of your tell your children about all your guns? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Better advice to parents:

Take your children out of government schools. Either homeschool or send to private schools of your choosing.

“...P.S.: how many of your tell your children about all your guns? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...”

Both of my children are certified Expert Marksmen. They are true Gun Kids, brought up and raised around firearms all their lives, as I was.

And any school official asking them questions of such a nture would be unceremoniously told to “Go F*** Yourself”. Politely, of course, because after all, we’re not barbarians...

Ah yes, code for “suppressing dissent”. Whatever happened to “dissent is patriotic”?

Read it. Amounts to:
- prudence for the reasonable
- fodder for the paranoid
- warning to the wary
- tools for the tyrant.

Depends on who’s in charge, and how holders of various axioms of liberty are respected. While not scared by this document, I am neither comforted.

May this content be held high: “Strong religious beliefs should never be confused with violent extremism. ...opposition to government policy is neither illegal nor unpatriotic”.
