Obama now lying about debt ceiling, says it does not involve new spending, just paying bills.
Not paying the military and/or not sending out the social security checks would be a very bad idea imo.
If the Reps were really smart, they would send a clean, short term increase in the debt ceiling and send it to the Senate. Then Obama and the Dems would be faced what they really don’t want, i.e., to address the issue again before the election. Historically, there have been plenty of such short term increases. There were 17 under Reagan. To me, this is the one thing that would put Obama on the spot. It would be a master stroke.

Oblahblah contradicting himself in the same sentence .... putting SS, Vet benefits, etc. on the line if no agreement by Tues., then says US has $$ to pay bills so can keep AAA credit rating. Won’t he be surprised when we get downgraded anyway /s. Again asking people to call, email, tweet ..... keep the pressure up. Double bad whammy for me yesterday -- waiting endlessly at the DMV office watching CNN with the sound off (thank you DMV). But CNN was interviewing as many seasoned citizens as they could in that segment and no doubt asking them what would happen if they didn't get their SS checks and who was to blame. Gag...
