A Joint Staff Report prepared for Rep. Darrell Issa of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and Sen. Chuck Grassley of the Senate Judiciary Committee has just been released today.

Of significance, former ATF attaché to Mexico, Darren Gil and his deputy, Carlos Canino confirm reports made early on by Gun Rights Examiner and Sipsey Street Irregulars that not only was this information withheld from them, but also from the Mexican governmentdespite repeated questioning and objections leading to screaming matches registered with management.

Exactly.
This was not just some dumb bureaucratic SNAFU. It was a fore-planned, full scale operation ($80 million and counting) that involved many higher-ups in several agencies.
Further, we know that the Justice Deptartment one of those agencies, so it's absurd to think that this was going down without approval from the Whitehouse.
opened a can of worms?.
Cool. It’s time to go fishing for big ‘uns.
I read the congressional report on this linked in the article. We learned that ATF is trained to never let a gun out of their control in a sting operation. In spite of that policy and professional training, ATF purposfully let a ton of guns out of their control and armed a drug cartel in Mexico. It was not “idiocy.” We know the cartels in Mexico are affiliated with Islamic terrorists who are perched on our border and have cells all over the US. Homeland Security knows this.
We know the excuse the DOJ/ATF used to run the guns is a cover up. They had no intention of running a sting on arms suppliers and they kept the operation going even while they were told there was no sting in their operation - just gun running abetting enemies of Mexico and the US. They kept it going as long as they could - until it hit the news after agent Terry was murdered. The master minds of this operation and their collaborators were the arms suppliers to bad guys affiliated with Islamic terrorists in Mexico.
Who are the domestic terrorists in America? Granny at the airport, Obama’s political and social enemies or the DOJ and ATF agents running arms to drug cartels associated with Islamic terror forces in Mexico?
The DOD should be handling the investigation of this treason. This was a domestic terrorist attack on the US and one of our allies conducted by Homland Security insiders.

Participants in F & F are worse than traitors, and, Name by Name, their names belong on the BIG LIST-—those people who mean the country harm and must go first if push comes to shove.
Simple: the truth would expose them as criminal, they are therefore seeking to limit what can be seen/spoken.
Indeed.
Nothing will happen here.
History is a good barometer.
Democraps are not going to hold one of their own responsible for the deaths of a few Mexicans and border agents, given that they have used the slaughter of millions as an empowerment scheme for decades. There is no conscience int he demcorat party or apparently their voters.
Right, but I want to know WHO sent the letter. I don’t like letting these crooks hide behind a government acronym. This is PEOPLE just like you and me that are doing this mess. Not the government, People.
IMPEACHMENT OF HOLDER ASSURED
HOLDER: “ I did have sex with that rifle and loved every minute of it!”
IMPEACHMENT OF OBAMA POSSIBLE
Obama: “ I did NOT have sex with that rifle!!!”
Idiocy?
No. Intent.
Yep. Correcto, it is by Intent. And the cockroaches who did this do not like the daylight shined on them. hee hee hee

I sure those folks stationed and working in Mexico do not want to spend time in a Mexican Jail
All it takes is a Senator with the guts of an Ann Coulter to say that "This President's administration has been involved in a secret plot to terrorize and slaughter as many Mexicans as possible, and is now trying to cover it up."
>Hey if a POTUS can get away with sex in the Oval Office with an intern....Lying to a GJ about it...And probable rape, probable sexual assault, etc. etc....Then this is small potatoes.
No way; this is much larger: it is a legitimate act of war on a foreign nation.
(And we would likely be just as upset if some country were sending weapons, not to groups saying they want to overthrow the government, but groups that are actively killing anyone who interferes with their ‘business’ and who have a not statistically-insignificant chance of destroying the government.)
There is also some legitimate case that it is a conspiracy against rights (18USC241) as there is (IIRC) a treaty w/ Mexico which prohibits firearm trafficking that their government did not approve of; and the constitution says that treaties “shall be the law of the land.” Less provable, but probably more likely, is that Fast & Furious is a 18USC241 violation against the 2nd Amendment.

I wish, very fervently, that is not the case.
Ironically, this is a good case to show that the Judicial System is not broken by meting out the severest of possible punishments to ALL involved no matter how high it goes... and this is precisely what we are seeing being resisted, not only investigation into how high it goes, but resisting all punishment altogether.
What is ironic about this whole situation is that it may prove that the US Government is worse than the Mexican government: at least the Mexican government does not pretend that corruption is not a problem. (Whereas there are *many* who would crow about how the US is “the least corrupt government in the world.”)
Maybe someone should call out Felipe Calderone on this issue for his tacit approval engendered by silence.
>>”Unfortunately when a tree falls in the forest a sound is only heard if someone is there at the time it falls. The mainstream media is not going to cover this story under a Democrat administration. Were a Republican in office, this story would be front page everyday in the NYT and WP as well as the lead story on NBC, CBS, CNN, and ABC.

Indeed; let us frankly call it what it is: an act of war against a sovereign nation.
