LONDON A report that Norway's bomb and gun rampage may be the work of a far-right militant confronts Europe with the possibility that a new paramilitary threat is emerging, a decade after al-Qaida's Sept. 11 attacks.
One analyst called the attacks possibly Europe's "Oklahoma City" moment, a reference to American right-wing militant Timothy McVeigh who detonated a truck bomb at a federal building in Oklahoma City in 1995, killing 168 people.
Police forces in many western European countries worry about rising far-right sentiment, fueled by a toxic mix of anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant bigotry and increasing economic hardship.

I suspect this man is a ‘lily white’. This tactical action is very typical of Arab thinking.
It is meant to turn us against one another, to weaken us from within.
The Norwegians will find out the truth behind these acts and our media will ignore the facts. Just you all watch what develops.
“His targets make no sense if he was after Muslims. “
His target was the next generation of Labour Party activists, i.e. the people who make the laws that allow for muslim immigration. In a sick way, it makes plenty of sense.
("We told you so," U.S. Home Land Security.)
You were correct and the media’s agenda has never been more transparent.
If this had been one of the many acts of violence perpetuated by the ROP on a daily basis, it would be wiped from the front page.
“The European right has more in common with the American left than it does with us.”
Agreed, that’s why the EU Right is neo-NAZI. The American left will never admit the truth that it is the home of wanna be NAZIs
I can only imagine the headlines tomorrow. Lib journolists demanding apologies from Sarah Palin, blaming tea partiers, and demanding new agencies be created to protect America from tea party terrorists. I think there are More stories talking about how the shooter is a “right wing terrorist” than there are about the victims off this crime.
Our closest ideological cousins are in Australia, Canada, and Great Britain.
According to some alleged writings he found the ‘multiculturalists’ to blame for Norway’s problems. There have been some high profile immigration cases lately in Norway. The Labor Party has been in control for about 10 years so he probably blames them.
Any comments on leftwing socialism being responsible for 200 MILLION deaths in the 20th century?
...cue crickets....
Time for Norway to spend billions (and billions) on, wait for it.. NHS Norway Homeland Security. Oh and get colored rainbow alerts too, always fun. Then when your Gov builds a large enough police force between you and well.. your Gov. You will enjoy the peaceful quiet of your government never listening to you. /s
The population of Norway is under 5 million. Just saying, like.
Yeah, I was looking at this chart - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_in_Norway#By_county - and accidentally read the total pop. rather than the Muslim pop. Still, plenty of Muslims in Norway (7.5% of Oslo’s population, in fact). ...enough to find be able to find them easily.
Well, he had Terry Nichols with him, at the very least.
Exactly. The idiots in the media will be making these exact points every time there is a horrendous mass shooting episode. We ventured down this road recently with Jared Lee Loughner, who the media quickly tried to say was a right-wing nut but turned out he was more or less a left-winged loon.
They call this guy a Right Wing Christian Fundamentalist based on a fishy Facebook page, put up a couple days ago.
Yet the Ft Hood Shooter shouts “Allah Akbar,” openly promotes jihad on Army time, has “Soldier of Allah” on his business card, and “we shouldn’t jump to any conclusions.”
Anyone who thinks McVeigh was a Christian, please raise your hand
Tremble in your beds all ye who are transgressors and who can only shout thou shall.
The wrath of the people shall be upon you and your end is nigh
"No, it makes no sense at all. If his hatred were focused on Muslims and their enablers he'd have gone after at least one them directly. If the enablers were his prime target, he wouldn't have shot up a youth camp, he'd have attempted to kill gov't officials."You don't get it, don't you? Apparently he very deliberately planned it out. A youth camp where the children of the Socialist political elites are, with no security, is a much softer target than the parliament, government buildings, where there can be expected at least some form of security. He wanted big impact and fair probability of success. Not trying to defend his action in any way, only that there is a kind of grim logic.
