Barack Obama says rich should pay more tax in call to Congress to resolve US deficit crisis

US President Barack Obama on Saturday renewed his call for a compromise in solving America's debt problem, saying it would take a "balanced approach" and "shared sacrifice" for Democrats and Republicans to come to an agreement.

"That means spending less on domestic programs," the president said. "It means spending less on defence programs. ... And it means taking on the tax code, and cutting out certain tax breaks and deductions for the wealthiest Americans."

Tax, spend, tax, spend...

"Tax the rich" -- who are "the rich" -- anyone who actually works, produces, and generates income.

The sacrifice is for the govt to not spend money it has not got. Simple. Stop spending. If the puppy-dogs have to be sacrificed, so be it.

The Obama Downgrade

"We've said we think it would be foolish of Republicans to walk into Mr. Obama's debt-limit trap and let him blame them for the financial fallout, including a possible credit downgrade. But this is not because we think they will deserve the blame. Even if this debt-ceiling crisis passes, the threat of a credit downgrade will continue and grow until Mr. Obama changes his policies, or Americans change Presidents."

Tax the poor......they are a drag on society and should contribute to pull their own weight.

Who are the poor? The ones who pay no taxes

Many not only don’t pay taxes, but get federal money in various forms.

We have all seen big strong guys, who should be working, paying for groceries with food stamps.

Thanks to LBJ the Congress Critters discovered that they could use our money to bribe the “poor” to vote for them.

I used to wonder why our Founding fathers had inserted property/wealth requirements into voting rights. Well, I have had that answer hit right between the eyes first in Wisconsin and now in Washington D.C. If you don't have a vested interest in something some will eventually come by and steal it from you.

Call me what you will but the visual proof of the above statement is too wide spread to be ignored any longer in spite of the cries of the liberal/progressive/socialists who profit from the protestations.

Changing the tax code abruptly punishes those who are playing by the rules to make up for Democrat spending.

Changing the tax code abruptly

Leaves no time for small and medium business to prepare, long-term and short-term it is a disaster.

Read Obama’s lips: More new taxes

The 1990 budget deal shows compromising on taxes leads to political disaster

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/jul/15/read-obamas-lips-more-new-taxes/

“Democrats want to recreate this dynamic so that Mr. Obama could find himself back in the White House, even though his poll numbers have plunged. Tea Party supporters and other conservatives will treat any compromise on taxes as a betrayal akin to the 1990 budget deal. They will either sit out the next election or be so angry they go the third-party route. Such a split is key to Democratic success.

Mr. Obama, who made a “no tax” pledge for the middle class is no doubt confident that he can break his promise without penalty. Democrats generally never met a tax they didn’t like, and the White House will simply redefine “middle class” to exclude those on whom they seek to place new and ruinous burdens.”

So true. To Obama, every spending cut is lost votes. That could mean a lost election, thus thwarting his fundamental transformation of America through wealth redistribution.

While he and others in the administration and our Congress secretly stash the money they steal from us for their own greedy selves.
