President Obama on Tuesday said he cannot guarantee that retirees will receive their Social Security checks August 3 if Democrats and Republicans in Washington do not reach an agreement on reducing the deficit in the coming weeks.
"I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven't resolved this issue. Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it," Mr. Obama said in an interview with CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley, according to excerpts released by CBS News.

Seems like Obama will always function at the Senator level, never as the POTUS. We are suppose to trust this guy?
Well, that's what got me. The news has been playing McConnell's quote all morning "as long as this president is in the oval office, a solution is unattainable."
And Marco Rubio was the one who responded to Obama's lie on Rush's show minutes ago.
Boehner called them out this morning that the Dems have still not provided a concrete proposal in the first place to debate.
As fast as this is moving and as vicious as this commie bastard is, I think the Stupid Party is holding their own, at least today.
“This man is a fork-tongued demagogue of the 1st order.”
An argument quite eloguently articulated by Victor Davis Hanson here:

Those checks?
What a pitiful joke he is.
This is ECONOMIC TERRORISM, pure and simple. And he is LYING...
AN AMERICAN PRESIDENT DOES NOT THREATEN AMERICA CITIZENS.
How fast can this klown be impeached?
Take the SS money from the EPA
Actually no. UI is a state liability. The initial period is paid by the companies. Only the super long 99 week extensions are offset by federal programs.
Sorry you are wrong. He will do this and the MSM will push very hard that it is the fault of Sarah Palin and the sheeple shall buy it.
Then they would have to stop, as well................
Can obama guarantee anything gets paid on August 3? What WILL get paid?
The Muslim Brotherhood? Egypt? The SEIU?”
And of course, Planned Parenthood.
No on will stop entitlements. No elected official can.
That is thinkable!
“O” is a person with just the kind of malice to work it this way. Personally, I think “O” is capable of positively ANYTHING..so long as it does not interfere with his re election.
I can guarantee Barack Obama won’t be re-elected in 2012 and that alone will spare taxpayer trillions of dollars in future debt. When the electorate sees the stunning difference in economic performance between the administration of whichever Republican is elected in 2012 and Barack Obama, they will realize BHO is simply Jimmy Carter redux.
I did get through to Cantor's office and she said she has received several calls on this, ...and then she started saying she disagrees morally on what Democrats are .......I cut her off and told her that I dont care about that, and that if SS was fully funded and NOT adding a penny to the debt as Democrats keep saying, then how can a debt limit extension have any affect on it?? I told her that I would like Republicans to win for a change. call them out on the big lie!
Plenty of money for his fellow muzzies though:
Obamas 2009 Supplemental Appropriations for Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Pandemic Flu was revised and passed by the full committee. Not sure what the next step is, but based on the summary, it gives billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to countries and entities that support Sharia law and/or harbor, hide and support those who want to destroy the U.S. and our allies.
