Republican House candidate Cindy Bryan does not rattle easily.
When a mean-looking, five-foot rattlesnake was recently found at the home of a friend, she simply grabbed a hoe and killed the venomous reptile with a few good whacks.
Voters of the 91st district are hoping she will take the same fearlessness with her to the House of Representatives, and Bryan would be happy to oblige.
"I am telling the establishment in Jackson, to those who campaign one way and govern another, I will be a citizen-legislator -- not afraid to do the dirty work of cutting out the go-along-to-get-along mentality, she said. If they try to slither any nonsense, big government bills through the House during my term, I'll stop them dead -- with my hoe if I have to!"

No, if she was from Louisiana she would have had her recipe book with her.

If that snake is 5 feet long, she must only be 3 feet tall!
To: IndePundit
Looks far longer than 5 ft unless she is 3 feet tall.

Snakes completely freak me out. Prayers for your recovery!
To: IndePundit
Well done! Of course, were she Sarah Palin, she would’ve skinned and cooked it, too!

She was lucky, a hoe is not the best tool to kill a snake with. Last time I used a hoe on a snake, the handle split. A shovel is better. Come down hard preferably on the snakes neck and do not lift the shovel to hit it again, just grind until the snake is cut in half. I am a snake killin’ woman, I hate those things!

I don’t know how I have avoided being bitten by a Copperhead, they have certainly had every opportunity. Best wishes for your recovery.

Got a snake story for ya.
I was out frog gigging with some friends. We had a trident on a long stick, a flashlight and a .22 rifle to deal with any cotton mouths we came across. Sure enough, a cotton mouth is swimming toward me. I pinned his head with the trident and shoved it into the mud. The snake wrapped itself up the stick and around my forearm. Now what?
So my bud tells me that he will shoot the snake. I told him, no way because he might break the stick. Guess what. He shot the stick. I peeled the snake off my arm and did my best Jesse Owens impression through 2 feet of water.
Yep were were teenagers.
