Yup! Luvs me a good mental knock down drag-out ;)

The last time SOL went off with his “Duty to serve” nonsense it ended the same way. Look for him to pop up on this thread tomorrow and leave a few more comments after he thinks everyone left so he can ‘get the last word in’.

The progressive media had lauded Palin with many positive articles prior to her being selected as the VP candidate. With Palin living in the sticks, That's the progressive label delineating Alaska, she was no threat to the progressives in power. When they realized that she could drive to an airport and fly to the lower forty eight in just a few hours, they panicked. Then they find that she is married to a minority, made babies with him and one of the babies is a special needs child. At that point it was......OH!..MY!....GOD!....she must be destroyed. The progressives haven't slowed down since.

I cannot tell you how many repubs and conservatives I know that did not vote because Mc Cain was a RINO~~ SO NOW we have Nobummer because of ppl who refuse to vote because they don’t like either candidate~~ I think perhaps, you should be looking at the lesser of the two evils~~ lest the USA goes down the slippery slope of socialism forever~~

No problem, we'll just run into him on another Palin thread (where he'll no doubt be loitering) and link his comments into some new posts.

He no thinky 'bout linkies ;-)

Just like you can only be caught speeding while driving. You can be ticketed later, but you can’t be “caught” later. You know this is true.

No, we don't at all know this is true.

Let's say I drive through a work zone that has a traffic camera and radar display sign on it, and there's video of me going through there with the sign displaying 95 where the work zone is 35 mph limit, and it shows me smashing into the barrier and getting carted off to the hospital. In most states, it's not like they review the footage and say, "Shoot! He's out of office..uh, I mean, 'no longer driving'...so we can't catch him and charge him with speeding!"

Are you saying it's different in Alaska?

Well I hope so if she wants it and it looks like she might

Nixon....I followed politics even then but only a teen

My dad had been Ike and then Barry....he liked Nixon ok...

He voted Gop nationally but like Sonny Montgomery and John Stennis locally....he did like the hard right GOP..but not the New England branch....he thought Dirkson a moderate

Main thing I recall about 68 election are the rumors the freaks dosed McCarty and of course how LBJ backed out....that was a man hated in white Dixie

This Newsweek piece is indicative

I would like to great she has pickets out front by now...it takes a lot to get a campaign moving

Her main competition will be Mitt and Perry...if he enters too....and the establishment but it will be hers to lose

Would be a big bump for this forum too and we need it....sadly

Don’t forget that in 08 she was under the thumb of McCain ‘handlers’ whereas this time, she’s calling all the shots.

Excellent point, Norm. Imagine if Sarah had been as 'rogue' as she could have been back then- the media spotted a non-conformist in Sarah and worked to destroy her because, simply, they had to elect the first Negro haploid to the Office Of President, and they had their 'compromised' candidate in John "don't get between him and the microphone" McCain.

When John 'reached across the aisle' it was tribute to the fact that he could still use his arms after the abuse he received in Nam. Trouble is, those on the 'other side of the aisle' rooted for his captors and he never figured it out. Sarah wasn't fooled, not once. They'd not only break his arms, they were busy trying to break hers.

During the Kouric interview, Sarah locked-up upon hearing the least expected question ever imagined in her life of a prospective VP candidate. Rest assured, Joe Biden would have had an immediate answer just as he would have if the question had been, "When you wipe, do you fold or crinkle?" Because he's that injected into what's really important in the world and our part as a nation. And, because he'd have expected such a question from perky Katy.

Sarah will destroy the MSM, the LSM (as she describes them) and the MFM as I perceive them. If elected President, and I hope with all my might this happens, she'll give them the hand to talk to. They deserve no less for their participation in this country's decline. It's not just that they aren't doing their job but actively working to subvert those values that are at the heart of what makes America great- individual liberty, capitalism, religion, and a sense of charity not seen anywhere on earth.

What America needs today is not some 'cool' President, but a non-conformist which, if you think about it, would be really 'cool'. If only the young and independents would recognize this our task would be much less difficult. To think a mother from Alaska could fit such a bill is almost unthinkable. But she can and she will if given the chance. If she couldn't, would they spend the energy and time to destroy her as they have?

And would they not spend as much to promote a MassCare candidate who has more in common with them than his own party's base? If Romney isn't a media created Toad, then I'm the Jolly Green Giant. "Ho Ho Ho, bitch". See, I suck as bad at being the JGG as Romney does being a conservative. The Tenth Amendment wasn't put there so governors could be a-holes, it was put there to keep the Feds from being a-holes and that's why the courts have ignored it- they like big a-holes. Well, four out of nine do, anyway.

This country needs a whole-lot-of-fixin and as a trouble-shooter by trade, we must not fail this next election. The stakes are too high and the corrections too many. Care must be exercised in whatever form the fixes take. A soft landing is a must where we have many dependent upon our ponzi schemed programs. Retirement and medical care must be un-coupled from government budgetary items. With a thriving market, both could exist while providing better benefits than any govt. plan will. Competition beats non-competition every time. Let our markets do their job, get out of the way, and watch us prosper and provide for our needy.

My guess is that a certain girl from Alaska would be inclined to pursue the same approach to our many 'social' issues. Get out of the way and let the market solve most of our problems. And, when they can't, offer incentives to those willing to spend their wealth on helping the poor and disabled by giving tax breaks as is done for churches who should be the primary source of help for those who have no place to turn for help. Yeah, a church, a place of faith should be the first turn in the road to restructuring one's dismembered life. And why not? One will put a pancake in your hand, while the other puts it on your head (Govt) as in a dream. The syrupy plans instituted by the Left are just that- Dreams of My Maple/Father. The sooner Americans are awakened from this comma induced nightmare, the better.

Wind...I heard the exact same things from people here about Sharon Angle and O’Donnell and a bunch of others in 2010. I told them in 2010 they were crazy, and I was right. It’s one thing to win a primary and be loved to the core by the base. It’s quite another to win a general election.

Anything is possible, but more than likely she cannot win. You thought the media savaged her last time, wait until this time around. This election will come down to independents and too many independents don’t think she has the mettle to run this country. Don’t get me wrong, they don’t think Obama does either. So what happens is they sit it out or vote some 3rd party candidate and Obama wins anyway.

I love Sarah, but she cannot win. She cannot take enough of the swing states that the GOP must win to capture the WH. Pennsylvania being one. Virginia being another. She might be able to win Ohio, but she trails there now as well. She needs ALL THREE of those states, not just one.

This election will come down to independents and too many independents don’t think she has the mettle to run this country. Watch the movie. It's going to take off. Newsweek just gave it a big boost. The initial 10 screens are a test and it could go to 1000 screens with a good response in the test. There is a Pay per View agreement to be announced and an DVD sales agreement with WalMart. If a 527 sponsors a network showing millions will see it. You can not view this movie without gaining confidence in her leadership ability and the ability to be a fine President.

The nearest screening to me is well over rwo hour's drive. I agree that these ten screens are just a test, and yes, they will most likely be a profit maker for AMC and appear on a whole lot more. But wait, the nearest AMC theater is still a half hour away.

Finally broke down and sent SarahPac a C note and will get it delivered. I will view it at least two or three time in private, and for a hundred bucks, I can guaran-damn-tee you that at least a couple score friends and family will see it too.

Kind of have the feeling that I won't be the only one doing the same thing.

I wonder if they photoshopped that to look less than flattering.

She's a politician, not a movie star or an object of worship. I don't think the 2012 election will be a beauty contest between President Obama and the Republican nominee.

This is a MUCH better photo but Newsweak chose a photo that does NOT accurately express Sarah's glowing beauty. Others have made similar comments including one FReeper who noted the various photo "touch-up" tchniques that were used for the cover shot.

YOU need to take off those rose colored glasses and see reality.

Fred, you're wrong.

Because the election isn't today. It's in fifteen or sixteen months.

And Sarah hasn't started campaigning.

And all you've seen or heard from all sides has been anti-Palin, pro-Obama.

Better go tell Karl Rove nobody is listening, and you'd like a new set of talking points.

Speaking of Rove, check out Rove's historical numbers here.

Cheers!
