Polls show there's an anti-Mormon bias among voters - especially Democrats, more than a quarter of whom say they wouldn't vote for a Mormon. But this video of a Memphis Fox affiliate ridiculing Mitt Romney about his religion is a real wake-up call [video]. The whole news segment appears to be about Mormonism and the 2012 election, but skip ahead to the 3:20 mark for the worst of it [video].

The Mormon Jesus can’t save you Norm.
I blew Norms response out of the water and sourced LDS teachings from the Prophets and Apostles that countered his claim.
It is sad, SV that we know more about LDS doctrine than a member does (or claims to). I really think Mormons lie to themselves so often that they don’t even realize that they start lying to outsiders.
I answered this in post #503.
I clearly stated there that as long as a person is a natural-born citizen of a proper age, constitutionally he is eligible to run. Doesn't matter what tribe; what race; what religion. ALL are welcome to run & become POTUS candidates.
That's what's great about our country. We don't have fences that preclude people from running.
You assume a great deal. I don’t know what the Mormon’s teach on the subject.

Exactly
and yet you deem yourself somehow an authority on Mormonism enough to ridicule and challenge those who do know and post what they know
AND SOURCE WHAT THEY POST ???
My faith is in Jesus Christ who we read about in the New Testament.

And what of the Jesus Christ who we read about in the Old Testament ???
I will redeem all mankind, that one soul shall not be lost, and surely I will do it; wherefore give me thine honor (Moses 4:1).

Spounds like this is the one the mormon god chose
Mormons believe they have to dead dunk “all mankind” into mormonism...
and not one soul overlooked...
Whoops that was Lucifer speaking...
Satan, who was called Lucifer, also came, saying, Behold, here am I, send me, I will be thy son, and I will redeem all mankind, that one soul shall not be lost, and surely I will do it; wherefore give me thine honor (Moses 4:1).
Are you afraid that Romney would try to stop the use of tobacco and alcohol? No precedent.

Exactly right there
Joey Smith smoked like a chimney and the liquor flowed at his house
he even ran a bar right in his living room
His wife threatened to leave him if he didnt get it and his drunken loutish friends out of her house...
Brigham Young had the biggest monopoly on liquor production and the biggest brewery in all Uthah territory...
He drank but didnt smoke cigars
although he never preached against either...
Brigham Young frequently had parties where the men only without their wives attended to drink and to meet new young girls for an evenings fun and frolic...
The Mormons liked their liquor so well they even bathed in it...
You ain't gonna climb very high in the system by only believing THAT!
They succeeded in killing Joseph, but he had finished his work.He was a servant of God, and gave us the Book of Mormon. He said the Bible was right in the main, but, through the translators and others, many precious portions were suppressed, and several other portions were wrongly translated; and now his testimony is in force, for he has sealed it with his blood. As I have frequently told them, no man in this dispensation will enter the courts of heaven, without the approbation of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jun.Who has made this so?Have I?Have this people?Have the world? No; but the Lord Jehovah has decreed it.If I ever pass into the heavenly courts, it will be by the consent of the Prophet Joseph. If you ever pass through the gates into the Holy City, you will do so upon his certificate that you are worthy to pass. Can you pass without his inspection? No; neither can any person in this dispensation, which is the dispensation of the fulness of times. In this generation, and in all the generations that are to come, everyone will have to undergo the scrutiny of this Prophet. They say that they killed Joseph, and they will yet come with their hats under their arms and bend to him; but what good will it do them, unless they repent? They can come in a certain way and find favor, but will they?

What say ye?
Let's take a poll and just SEE what FR folks think??
Yes/NO is answer enough
If a MORMON runs for president; should his religion make a difference?
If a MUSLIM runs for president; should his religion make a difference?
That's where they ALL end up; sooner or later.
Heard anyone quoting Hinckley lately?
Did God really say, You must not eat from any tree in the garden?
Notice the TWIST Satan has tossed on it!
Genesis 3:1
COMMANDED to!
Heard anyone quoting Hinckley lately?

No, but at one of the pageants they were selling LDS t-shirts and one of them said (has to be leftovers from a couple of years ago)....ready?
“Gordon is my homeboy”
No. But voting for a Mormon Prez is a distinctive consideration.

No. But voting for a Muslim Prez is a distinctive consideration.
Mormons and Muslims both have a right to be on the ballot. Do they have some kind of automatic claim on everybody's vote -- just because of their religion -- as some posters insinuate? (NO!)
Next thing you know some posters will vie for claiming that the Constitution says there's a "quota" for minority-religion candidates needing to have at least a certain % of the voters' vote, or the election will be deemed "unconstitutional," invalidated, and the election results of the people overturned.
I think some of the minority-religion FREEPERS, the way they keep flunking out on Constitutional history, might "amen" the liberals on that one!
Meaning that I wouldn't assume that once an Asia Minor Christian, or once an Asia Minor religious syncretist, always a Christian or always a religious syncretist. Native American traditional religionists have no more claim on future generations remaining syncretists or traditional religionists than Christians in what is now Turkey did back in the first century.
Yep. I am sure you saw the post where I laid out at least six historical quotes from lds leaders about this very issue. There is no evidence that these beliefs were ever retracted. Unless you count the “the guy before us just gave an opinion now listen to what I have to say” argument. That goes along with it’s only the live leaders who count.
