How do you get from a headlight out to intoxication when there is absolutely no sign of it? Not to mention the rest of the tortuous path this trooper took the poor woman down. It was insane. The guy’s actions were insane. He’s an unstable personality. I was afraid of the guy just reading the husband’s letter. On top of that you have a Magistrate exhibiting the same type of behaviour. This is a small town corruption problem. Very common in the South. In GA its Habersham county. Everybody knows its totally corrupt. The cops have that same attitude.

The worst part is that this is the STATE Highway Patrol. They are supposed to be held to the highest standards.

You are no conservative. You don’t love freedom.

Educated people don't talk this way...

Let's try something. I think it will be telling.

What is your position on abortion? Should it be legal or not?

What is your position on homosexuality? Same-sex "marriage"? DADT?

How about pornography? Drug use? Religion in the public sphere?

What about Adultery? Fornication? Sodomy?

Was Lawrence v. Texas rightly decided? How about Roe v. Wade?

I'm not really sure why you're going back and forth with them. It's the same posters on the same threads. I get sucked into it to, but I have started to have fun with it.

I've been a cop for 8 years and a US Army officer for 1. Believe me when I say you have to let the yellers, cursers, and name-callers slide off your back. If we all met and had no idea who the other ones were, I can honestly say I would probably get along with 95% of FReepers (unless the subject of law enforcement came up!).

I know how it really is out there. I live my life surrounded by cops. Good guys/gals who just want to do their job and go home to their families. Sure, some are complete idiots but we stay away from them and request not to work with them.

But rest assured, there are plenty of straight up criminals in the US military. Where are the articles about them? It's a strange world we live in. An even stranger internet we surf.

Are you suggesting that someone who doesn’t agree with you down the line on every issue is uneducated? THAT’S uneducated.

I’m looking at the responses on this thread - and boy, did the posters make a jackass out of you.

It wasn't the other posters that did that.

re: my conservative positions, I believe abortionists should be in jail with dirty cops like you.

And I certainly don’t want queers teaching in schools or in the military.

re:anything else, if you are in your own home, and aren’t bothering anyone, enjoy your freedom. You would love to bust down my door and look for porn on my computer wouldn’t you?

People are corrupt. People have always been corrupt. It is our nature.

The thing that mystifies me is this: Knowing that people are by nature corrupt, why do we as voters cede such enormous power to the State?

Is it for Safety? Nobody can guarantee safety. Your momma can’t, your daddy can’t, even Jesus won’t. Certainly the State cannot guarantee safety. So why do we give them the power to regulate our lives, our behavior? I mean a little hands off over-site is a good thing. But we are micro managed and tracked from the time we first buy an automobile. Is it worth it?

Is it for order? Order in the sense of enforcing contracts is a good thing. The ability to engage in commerce, harvest crops is a good thing. That is why we need courts and we need cops. But that’s a pretty small mission, and a small part of what the government does.

So we give up freedom and liberty in exchange for order and safety. It is a balance. Right now in this world, it is far out of balance.

“...but we stay away from them and request not to work with them.”

That’s called passing the buck. For every bad cop, there are a dozen “good” cops who enable them. Do you really sleep well at night knowing that there are idiots in uniform with gov’t issued guns and the force of law behind them running around our streets?

When you start handing those card to people not family or friends you might have an argument.

Until then you are corrupt.

Yeh at least in GA the Staters are pretty professional. The local yokels can be a real pain in the azz. They are all getting federalized by the DHS so they are now being trained to jackboot us especially the low level domestic terrorist types like my fiancee’ and I with the Don’t Tread on Me plates etc. Look for this stuff to escalate until we remove Barry from office.

I’m beginning to believe a “new government” made up of today’s “conservatives” would be as bad, if not worse, than the “current” government.

This is not a conservative/liberal thing, it is a police thing. But, since you brought it up, Republicans tend to hold their reps to higher standards and primary and vote them out of office when they stray. Demon Rats will keep electing the same idiot, no primary, even when he steals, cheats, screws up, whatever.

Woah there Mr. MSNBC. Don’t selectively edit my quotes. I said ‘complete idiots’ not criminals. The truth is that it ain’t worth my pension to protect a dirty cop. You break the law around me, cop or not, you’re going down.

I’m not advocating this I’m just predicting it based on things I have been hearing but when the SHTF these cops like Wyrich are going to start having tragic accidents out on dark roads. The locals don’t appreciate these guys at all because they treat them just as badly. I would not want to be one of these cops when it goes bad.

Are you suggesting that someone who doesn’t agree with you down the line on every issue is uneducated? THAT’S uneducated.

Nonsense. In fact, you are describing what occurs here on this forum, time and time again. If you don't buy into the "JBT" meme, or support the hedonistic libertarian agenda, you are decried as "not a real conservative" or a "hater of freedom". If you don't jump on the cop-hating bandwagon, you are immediately attacked.

Confirmation bias is strong among some posters here.

I find it hilarious that people want to scream "DUE PROCESS" and "CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS" but want to jump on a police officer the moment an ambulance chasing Democrat supporter of John Edwards with an axe to grind writes a letter to his Democrat friends in government.

Notice how no one stepped forward to say, "Let's see what the investigation turns up." Nope... immediately, based solely on the accusations in the letter, people jumped on the bash the cops bandwagon, because it supports their preconceived "JBT" meme.

Never mind that the evidence shows that the letter was nothing but a pile of garbage.

Gravel Parking lot? Nope. It was black asphalt and flat.

Wasn't Drinking? Nope. She admitted to "1 glass a 7 PM".

Refused to let her make a phone call and sent the husband out of the room? Nope. Video shows he was there for the entire testing procedure.

Got right up in the husbands face? Nope. Video shows he never got close to the husband.

So tell me why it is ok for people to demand "due process" and "constitutional rights" for themselves, but they want to try the officer in the media, based solely on a letter?

That simply doesn't compute.
