People are corrupt. People have always been corrupt. It is our nature.

The thing that mystifies me is this: Knowing that people are by nature corrupt, why do we as voters cede such enormous power to the State?

Is it for Safety? Nobody can guarantee safety. Your momma can’t, your daddy can’t, even Jesus won’t. Certainly the State cannot guarantee safety. So why do we give them the power to regulate our lives, our behavior? I mean a little hands off over-site is a good thing. But we are micro managed and tracked from the time we first buy an automobile. Is it worth it?

Is it for order? Order in the sense of enforcing contracts is a good thing. The ability to engage in commerce, harvest crops is a good thing. That is why we need courts and we need cops. But that’s a pretty small mission, and a small part of what the government does.

So we give up freedom and liberty in exchange for order and safety. It is a balance. Right now in this world, it is far out of balance.

I’m not advocating this I’m just predicting it based on things I have been hearing but when the SHTF these cops like Wyrich are going to start having tragic accidents out on dark roads. The locals don’t appreciate these guys at all because they treat them just as badly. I would not want to be one of these cops when it goes bad.
