Morning all, didn't see a thread for today so I created one.
“This jury should be charged with explaining who did this “
The jury didn’t say she didn’t do it. They said there wasn’t enough evidence to convict her for it. You can only vote based on the evidence, not on your gut.
Her family seemed to know she did it. I think they were holding back evidence. That’s why the prosecution leaned on them hard.
You have to prove method of murder to convict someone.
You're correct, my bad.
So you are saying you are willing to trade freedom for security?
You get it. I wish there were a way to view just what the jury saw. It was a real quick unanimous verdict. I think they were not convinced by the evidence. The investigation was bungled and the state was stuck on stupid with the media template.
From what the defense attorneys said, I think that there will be some lawsuits against some of the media forthcoming. I think Nancy Grace is probably at the top of that list. “Tot-mom” and all.
I remember watching a young Korean mother whose son was missing, whom she interviewed, and battered endlessly. Accusing her of doing something to her little boy. I was already getting to a point where I was offended by Ms. Grace’s theatrics and meanness. That shy, quiet young women went out and shot herself dead after Nancy Grace got through with her. I never watched her again. I don’t know anything about her but through her CNN, but that was the end of any respect I had for her.
I don’t know what happened to Caylee Anthony. I do think that Casey Anthony knows and that thanks to over-charging, she will not be accountable for any responsibility she might have. At any rate, her life is permanently changed, and not for the “better”.
Compared to many of you, I know very little about this case. I came here and to another website or two to learn when I started watching the trial last week. I believe the media to be extremely inflammatory (based on their own self interest - money) and do not trust their information in these matters at all. I am thankful that the jury apparently didn’t, either and stuck with the evidence presented to them.
It was speculated weeks ago that the State overcharged her.
Maybe if the jurors had had lesser charges, they could have found her gulity. They didn’t even have the option of charging her with not reporting her missing, or even tampering with a corpse.
Thank You..I needed that!
Junk science, schmunk science.
There was the duct tape. There were all those lies.
Those two things together proved guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
There were 7 women and 5 men.
This girl is not going to suddenly become a model citizen. This verdict is gooing to enbolden her. God only knows what’s next on her agenda.
“The reality is that the prosecution did a very poor job”
Disagree. They didn’t have anything to work with. I thought leaning on the family was a good idea. I would be shocked if she did it alone.
Who do think think killed her? Do they think that little baby committed suicide and threw herself in the woods to rot? This makes no sense what so ever.
None of that existed in this case
You know what bothers me..., why would the mother lie to the four or so officers they convicted her of lying to, if she didnt have anything to hide? Evidently the jurors had no clue.
Apply your same logic to the Valeria Plame investigation that led to the Scooter Libby conviction.
You can't think of any reasons at all where an innocent person may not be truthful/accurate to the police?
Black is white, white is black, evil is good, good is evil. That is the world we live in now.
Casey Anthony is a pathological liar and a celebrity. Bella Vita.
RIP Caylee. So sorry the system failed you.
Why is the sheriff calling for calm? Is he expecting riots? A little over the top. Reminds me of the reference to the “High Sheriff” by a Deputy calling for calm when Brian Nichols shot up the Courtroom in Atlanta and then murdered the ICE Agent.
Sure hope President Bush has a good alibi for June 2008.
I don’t know how she can ever go out in public again.
Count Two, Aggravated Child Abuse: The maximum penalty for aggravated child is 15 years in prison. The estimated minimum sentence for this charge and other charges which might result in conviction along with this count would be 12 years, 1 month.
