Morning all, didn't see a thread for today so I created one.
No she wasn't...
Get your facts straight.
you make a great point
Even the DEFENSE said Casey was with Caylee when she died in the pool
That alone gave them something to hang their hat on.
Here’s a thought:
Since the defense ADMITTED she was with Caylee when she died, can the state now go after her for illegally dumping the body?
will she kill the baby she is now claiming to be carrying
You know what bothers me..., why would the mother lie to the four or so officers they convicted her of lying to, if she didn’t have anything to hide? Evidently the jurors had no clue.
Why would she not call 911 when she found the kid in the pool? Once again, the jurors had no clue.
Why would she be motivated to get a tattoo heralding ‘the good life’, when she was supposedly distraught over her missing daughter? The jurors had no clue.
Why wouldn’t the fact she actually thought she was living the good life, not be seen for the motive it was? The jurors don’t know.
Why would the jury ignore the grandfather’s own testimony regarding the smell of human remains emanating from the trunk? He was a detective, and knew that smell from his experiences on the job. Well, why should we fret about this. There’s nothing to see here, move along, move along...
This looks for all the world like a classic case of juror misconduct to me. It’s like they weren’t even paying attention to the case. There’s too many incongruancies for this woman to be guilty of nothing except telling falsehoods.
How do you only spend nine hour ‘max’ determining that this woman was essentially guilty of nothing more than fibbing?
I guess they thought she just lied for the fun of it. She didn’t call 911, because she didn’t want to be seen as a conformist. She got that ‘good life’ tattoo because life goes on, and you can only mourn so long. Hey, it was just a coincidence that the grandfather smelled that unmistakeable smell.
And besides, they’d been under wraps for 30 to 60 days, and it was more important to get back home than spend more time on this inconsequential matter.
I can see a juror or two coming to this conclusion and deadlocking the jury. It is unfathomable to think twelve of them could ignore all this and rule for innocence.
You could very well be right. Perhaps nothing will come of this. I honestly don’t know. What I will tell you, is that if something should happen, it will be of no note to me. It will be something that I saw coming a mile off.
If it surprises you, that’s okay. I’m not here to lay blame at your feet in any way.
OK. Not Guilty. How’s that. Enjoy the Crow dinner.
you are right -
Our society truly is ill - we continue to throw away our deepest values in exchange for convenience and cede our rights for temporary security. But respect for the rule of law is one thing that still binds us, though tenuously. A compassionate person should always cry out for justice for the innocent victims of violence and equally for punishment of the guilty. As with O.J. Simpson: justice is often delayed, and sometimes wholly frustrated, but it is rarely denied forever. The truth will set the innocent free, and condemn the guilty in time.
It is amazing how many know it alls on this thread never watched the trial and never paid an ounce of attention. Yet today, they know the case wasn’t proved and think Casey should walk.
Very telling.
But not a one of them can explain how that child in the custody of her mother ended up in a swamp, dead with duct tape wrapped around her head, and why Mom dumped her car smelling like death near a check cashing place and went on to party for 31 days.
Well, when all is said and done...I predict Casey’s future to be filled with all sorts of parties and other fabulous evenings out with friends and her entourage...
She’ll pen a deal to pose nude in Playboy...Or if she is a freakazoid Larry Flint will step in and offer her a sweet deal for his rag...
Then when things die down enought for her to begin looking for the “true” killer...She’ll be on the golf course with O.J. beating the crap out of little white balls...
How do you cook your Crow? Need a recipe?
people forget that the judge allowed various forms of junk science on behalf of the prosecution. Junk science is a desperation move.
Yes, she was. Aggravated child abouse was the 2nd charge.
Does anyone know what the legal predicates are in Florida for the child abuse charge?
Maybe the act of losing your child isn't covered in the specific statute that she was charged with. The charge probably requires intentional harm instead of neglect.
What? This is news to me. Did I miss it? Is Casey saying that she is pregnant?
JURY FAIL.
Maybe no one — there isn’t even evidence that someone killed her (no cause of death known).
The jury cannot base their verdict on your question, “if Casey didn’t kill Caylee, who did?” They can only base it on the question, “is there enough evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Casey killed Caylee?”
They apparently decided there was not, and I agree.
If I recall, my IQ tested at ~150 when I was a child, and I have a pair of Master’s degrees. Does that count?
I’ll answer that for you — a juror shouldn’t require exceptional intelligence or education, and I would argue that an accurate cross section of society would work best. Unfortunately, precious few in our society possess either, which I suppose is why we describe those factors as exceptional (and why they tend to be rare on a jury).
Haha - maybe we should boycott Disney, you know, since she had such a long career there!
To be clear, she was charged, but not convicted of child abuse.
At least she has an imaginary job she can fall back on.
just keep her out of Manatee and Sarasota county
