SNIPPET: “Allegedly fled country
In December 1983, an international student from Syria was killed when he was shot twice in the head, according to an Oklahoma court affidavit obtained by CBC News.
The affidavit said a witness told authorities he sold a gun to Shanti, who was a student from Jordan.
The shooting victim’s chequebook and credit cards turned up in Shanti’s apartment and police found blood stains in his car, the affidavit said.
Shanti was arrested but then allegedly fled to Jordan before his trial.”
“...It was also unclear how many times he had entered the U.S. since 1983, or why he wasnt red-flagged earlier.
