That show is still better than most of the stuff on tv these days.

I saw a German movie (Wings of Desire?) in which he played himself, but the premise was that he, Peter Falk, was one of several angels who had come down to Earth to experience what it was like to sense the world through human senses. Good movie.
Of course, he also played the grandfather reading from the Never-Ending Story.
