What are you watching here? This is Obama, speaking at Fort Drum and justifying his willy-nilly pullout of Afghanistan in front of the 10th Mountain Division. And he references SFC Jared Monti of the 10th Mountain as being the first Medal of Honor recipient not to get the award posthumously.
Except Jared Monti was dead when he got the award. He was killed in action in 2006. Those are his parents in the picture as Obama presented them with Monti’s MOH.
The soldier Obama must have been thinking about is SSG Sal Giunta, of the 173rd Airborne. Giunta was the first living MOH recipient from Iraq and Afghanistan. It was a really big deal when Obama gave him the award; even non-political people knew about it.
It’s not the kind of thing a president who goes on and on about what an honor it is to recognize the troops would forget. And yet he just resurrected a Medal of Honor recipient.
Unless Jared Monti is Lazarus, this is a gaffe of mind-boggling proportions. This is worse than anything the Left can point to Sarah Palin or Michele Bachmann or Dan Quayle or W for.
And this was off-the-cuff. This wasn’t some dumb staffer loading factual mistakes into the teleprompter. This was Obama’s brain.

He’s also lazy. He’s always golfing, playing basketball, vacationing, or raising money for his next campaign a year before he needs to. You rarely ever see him really working. He’s either campaigning or doing a speeches. When the health care bill was being worked out, you saw prince harry and nancy doing all the work. He sends his vice president who is more or less window dressing and or dress rehearsal just in case, to do the heavy lifting for the economy while o’bama goes and plays.

Obama had no problems remembering the Islamic Call to Prayer, delivering it without an accent, in Egypt.
This Fort Drum gaff is like the “10,000 people died” in the Kansas tornado mistake:
“Obama spokesman Bill Burton said later that the senator meant to say “at least 10,” instead of 10,000.”
Or the “all 57 states”.
Good thing we don’t have a Dummkopf like Sarah Palin as leader of the Free World!
